"Thanks Ma for watching Amari." Kaseem said picking four year old Amari off of the floor.
"No problem son. And don't forget about Jalen he needs to be picked up from school soon." His mom said giving both of them a kiss on the forehead.
"Why can't you just get him a car already?" He said with a little whine.
"Cause that lil nigga be acting up too much he lucky I be letting him go out." She said and gave Kaseem Amari's diaper bag.
"Aight Ma." He said and gave her a hug and a kiss on her cheek.
"See y'all." She said and they walked out to the car.
"Daddy can we see mama." Amari asked as she was getting buckled in.
"Another time Mari." He said and closed her door.
He walked around and got into the drivers seat.
"Later?" She said and he nodded.
She screamed and laughed in the back with lots of joy.
It hurt Kaseem's heart knowing he lied to his own daughter about seeing her mother who wanted nothing to do with her or him.
"Aight Mari calm down." He said smiling at her.

"Did mom said to let me come here?" Kaseem's brother Jalen asked taking a blunt out of his pocket.
"No. And momma gon beat yo ass put that shit down." Kaseem said smacking the blunt of of his hand.
"How come you can do it then?" Jalen asked watching Kaseem light up a blunt.
"Cause I'm grown." He said and continued smoking it.
"17 is grown." Jalen said.
"You still in school though." Kaseem said. "Once you out of school you grown." He said.
Jalen looked at Amari. "You think this fair?" He said and she shook her head no.
"She don't know what she talkin bout." Kaseem said and smiled at Amari.
There were a couple knocks at the door and Kaseem and Jalen looked at eachother.
"Get Amari." Kaseem said, Jalen did so and went into another room with her.
Kaseem opened the door and it was just a girl.
"Wassup." He said.
"Is Jalen here?" She said and Kaseem raised an eyebrow.
"Why you need him?" Kaseem asked and she looked back for a second.
"Oh I'm Jasmine. His friend from school." She said.
"Jalen!" Kaseem yelled and he walked out with Amari in his arms.
"What?" He said and put Amari down.
"This girl said she knew you." Kaseem said trying to hide his smile.
"Hey Jasmine." He said and walked out closing the door behind him.
"Amari you think he like her?" Kaseem asked her while sitting next to her.
"Yea." She said and started playing with his hand.
Jalen walked back in with a huge smile.
"What happened?" Kaseem asked.
"I got a date to prom!" He yelled and he started dancing in front of us making Amari join him.
All he could do was just laugh.
"Y'all mad goofy." Kaseem said.
"Come on daddy dance." Amari said taking his hand.
"Yea Kaseem dance!" Jalen yelled with the same smile on his face.
Kaseem got up and started dancing with Amari and Jalen till they went out of breath.
