KASEEM'S POV
A couple minutes passed and me and Jalen were playing 2K.
"Dad look at my makeup. You like?" I hear Mari say walking up to me with Asia behind her.
"Yea you look pretty." I smiled and she ran away to wash it off.
"Jalen I gotta go home now Aaron said he gon be home soon." Asia said.
"Ight." Jalen said getting up.
I felt my phone going off in my pocket and took it out.
Jayla was calling so I picked it up.
"You good?" I asked putting the phone up to my ear.
"Yea I'm fine." She said.
"Wassup then?" I asked and she sighed.
"My brother passed Seem." She said.
"How you know he's dead Jay?" I asked her and she sniffled.
"I saw his body lying on the ground when I pulled up Kaseem!" She yelled.
"Okay just calm down and call the police or sun shit Ight? I'm coming back now." I said.
"Don't leave me." She said and I signaled for Mari to come over to me.
"Yea?" Mari said.
"Get your shoes on we gotta go." I said and Mari frowned while getting her shoes.
"Jayla you okay? You want something to eat? I'll pick sum up for you." I asked.
"No it's fine." She said lowly and I sighed.
I felt bad I wish I didn't go out I should've just stayed home.
"I'm ready." Mari asked walking up to me.
I nodded and got up.
"Jalen imma go Jayla want me at home." I said and he nodded.
"Bye y'all." Jalen said while we waved walking out.
"Yo!" We heard walking to the car.
"Jayla imma give the phone to Mari real quick okay?" I said giving her the phone.
"Mari get in the backseat aight?" I asked her and she nodded.
We've been through shit like this many times so she knew what to do. I ain't never like raising her like this so I happy we was moving tomorrow.
"Wassup." I answered back to the guy.
"You know a Nigga named Jalen?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Nah why?" I asked.
"I heard he was wit my sister." He said.
"Kaseem Mari forgot her little bag." Jalen said opening the front door.
"Damn it Jalen." I said and the guy walked up to us.
"Where's my sister?" The guy asked trying to get into the house.
"Back up." I said and he pushed me back.
"Aaron she's in the house." Jalen said.
"Fuck you mean she's in the house!" He yelled.
"She was only staying the night I was gonna drive her home today." Jalen said and Aaron scoffed.
"You was fuckin my sister wasn't you?" He asked.
"No we ain't do nothing like that." Jalen said making him take out his gun.
"You lying to me?" He asked pointing it at Jalen.
I saw Asia walking out of the house with Jalen's hoodie on.
"Y'all wasn't fucking?" He asked again.
"Aaron what are doing here?" Asia asked.
"I was here looking for you." He said.
"I'm fine." She said.
"Crazy ass." Jalen mumbled and Aaron started shooting.
"Ahhhh." Jalen screamed running into the house making me shake my head.
Aaron shot again and I saw Jalen fall.
"YO!" I yelled running into the house.
I ran over to Jalen and he got back up.
"I tripped over my shoelace." He said and I walked back out of the house irritated.
I got back into my car and left.
"What happened?" Amari asked and I shook my head.
"Nothing." I said and she gave me my phone.
"Mom hung up the phone she was crying too." She said and I sighed.

We walked into the house and I saw Jayla walking down the stairs.
"You alright?" I asked her and she nodded.
I heard more footsteps and a whole bunch of people came out including her brother.
"Kaseem." She smiled walking up to me.
I looked down at Mari who was smiling too.
"What's going on?" I laughed and her smile got bigger.
"I'm pregnant." She said and the biggest smile appeared on my face.
"YESSSSSS!!" I screamed and everyone started laughing.
I kissed her and Mari and I felt the happiest I've ever been in my life. Besides when Mari was born of course Duhh.
I'm having a new child and after tomorrow we are finally out of the hood.
