Prom night
"You look handsome son." Ma said fixing my tie.
"Thank you." I said
"Who gon be picking you up tho." Ma said while I was spraying cologne on my suit.
"I think Jasmine's brother." I said.
"Hm."
"You betta treat that girl right then her brothers sumthin else." Ma said pointing her finger at me.
"I will ma her brothers scare me anyway." Jalen said and gave his mom a hug.
She laughed and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"I love you Jalen be safe." She said with a smile.
"Love you too ma." He said and walked out the of the house closing the door behind him.
I walked out of the house and saw Jasmine in the backseat with her brother in the drivers.
I walk over to the car and Jasmine opened the door.
I could see my mom peaking the through the window.
"Hey Jay." She said and hugged me.
I hugged her back and her brother started eyeing me.
"You ain't get me no flowers?" She said and I widened my eyes.
"I'm not enough?" I said joking with her.
She laughed and then straighten her face again.
She looked at her brother then back at me and he started driving.
The ride was quiet for a good minute then Jasmine started talking.
"Can you dance?" She asked me and I smiled.
"Yea I can dance. Can you you?" I asked her and she nodded.
"I can dance."
...
"Probably better than you too." She said.
"Really?" I said and she nodded.
"We'll see." I said and we both laughed.
On the ride to the school her brother would look at me a certain way every couple minutes.
"What made you want to go with my sister." He asked and we looked up.
