"Boo boo!" Mari yelled and I laughed.
"Your home boy, your block that you're from-"
"Boo boo!!" Mari yelled again.
"Aight Mari you tryna see mommy again?" I asked and she nodded in excitement.
"Yess!" She screamed.
"Sike I lied!" I yelled.
"Fuck you." She said holding up her index finger.
"Watch yo mouth Mari." I said and she crossed her arms.
I pulled up to my moms house and saw Jalen peeking outside the window.
My mom recently moved due to the things that happened last month.
She would always catch niggas walking around her house looking for Jalen and me so she left.
I gave my mom a couple thousand to help her.
"Wassup Jay." I said dapping Jalen up.
"Uncle Jayy!" Mari yelled jumping out the car.
"Where mama at?" I asked and he shrugged.
"She said she was going to the sto." Jalen said.
"Oh ight." I said and we walked into the house.
"Ma got some new furniture and shit too." Jalen said and I looked around the house.
"It's nice." I said and Mari ran off into another room.
"Yo Mari!" I yelled and she peeked out the room she was in.
I walked to the room she was in and it was filled with toys.
"Ma made this the toy room." Jalen said and Mari started playing with the play kitchen.
"This is nice." I said looking around.
"Yea." Jalen said.
"You ready for college?" I asked Jalen and he shrugged.
"Ion know." He said.
"You talking like a lil kid right now. What you mean you don't know?" I said.
"All my friends are about 30 minutes from me and Jasmine.." Jalen said stopping his sentence.
"What about her?" I asked.
"She got shot too." He said.
"You shot her?" I said.
"Nah she got shot by some other nigga she been cheating on." Jalen said.
"Damn." I said and Jalen laughed.
"You find anyone yet?" Jalen asked and I shook my head.
"Nah I ain't looking for nobody right now." I said and he groaned.
"It's been about a year now and you haven't seen one fine ass woman?" Jalen said and I laughed.
"There was one but she already got a daughter." I said his eyes widened.
"Damn." Jalen said and I laughed again.
An hour later
Mari was in Jalen's room sleep and me and Jalen were on the couch waiting for mom to get back.
"Who she think she is leaving for this long." I said.
"Right she ain't grown." Jalen said.
"Nigga you ain't grown either so shut up." I said and he mugged me.
We heard the front door open and my mom walked in with Shay.
