Alone leaves you vulnerable. Alone leaves you exposed. And while, at first, that might not seem like that big a deal... if it happens often enough... it's bound to catch up to you.
"So about the Jack situation"aya tried but y/n stopped her by hitting her shoulder as Miller walked to them
"Andy and Jack left Montgomery in charge?" Miller spoke quietly to y/n and Bishop as Travis walked closer
"Well, he's got seniority." Y/n shrugged as Maya turned to travis
"You are looking sharp, Montgomery."
"Bishop, can you check the bottles....and make sure that they're all topped off" Travis read from the captains book, well in this case binder "Miller. Are we all stocked up on cleaning supplies?"
"Did you get your uniform professionally pressed?" Miller ignored what Travis had asked
"Also, I'd like a complete list of inventory on my desk by 11:00. " Travis then ignored him as well
"You did." Y/n began to laugh once she realized "you starched your collar, that's what you were doing last night"
"You know this is only for one shift, right?" Miller laughed as Travis walked off ignoring them completely

They had gotten a call so as normal they quickly hopped out of their vehicles. They looked around the street, this was definitely the address they had been given but they didn't see anything
"Where's our Vic?" Y/n asked shutting the door as she stepped forward
"I don't get it." Miller wondered as he opened his arms out Gesturing towards the road"This is the address."
"Double-check with dispatch." Travis ordered looking around as we"Find out where they need us to go."
"Help! Help!"
"Oh, no. Oh, my God." Vic began running towards the noise
"Hughes, where you going?" Travis asked and that's was when they saw the truck headed straight for a girl who was in the street
"Get up! Get up! Get up!" Vic yelled at her
"I can't!"
"Get out of the street!"
"I can't move!"
"Hey, get the truck to block off the traffic right now!" Travis spoke loudly
"Hughes!" Y/n yelled after Vic who was full on running in front of the moving vehicle
"Stop! No, no, no, no, no! No! Stop, stop, stop, stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!" The girl yelled as Vic came around and wrapped her body around hers, last minute the truck dodged them swerving just at that right time. The test of them quickly ran over to the two
"Hughes, you still in one piece?" Y/n asked letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding
"Yeah." She nodded breathless
"That was ridiculous." Miller shook his head chuckling
"Are you sure you're okay?" Maya looked at her suspiciously
"Yeah." Vic nodded before going back to the girl "You wanna tell us how you wound up here in this, uh... What is that, a pothole?"
"I was just crossing the street." Piper answered nervously"I didn't see the hole, and... and when I stepped in it, the whole thing just gave way."
