Tug Of War

Once the crowd made it back to the room, everyone went into their beds and sat down under the covers
"As you know there is three hundred and fifteen of you people remaining in this games, the next game will be teams of six, you will talk for five minutes to make up a strategy to eliminate the team your going against, we will explain more of the game once we are in the room, please follow us into the next two rooms" the guard yelled out as the members got out of their beds and started following the guards to the first room
The room was black before the lights flickered on, beside the room that the members were in was two large platforms across from each other with a rope in the middle
"This is the game Tug Of War, how this game works, there will be two teams against one another, as your know, when the other team goes over the platform and no one is left remaining the other team may let go and start celebrating, I will pick your teams and you will line up, when I give you your number you will go to the numbers that I point to, please sit down while we do a demonstration" the guard said as everyone sat down
The crowd watched as the two guards played against each other in the room
Finally one of teh guards pulled the other one into them
"Just like that, but obviously there will be other people on your side and it will be much more difficult to pull the team into the void and eliminate them" the guard said as they paused in mid sentence
"You will line up in a row and we will put you into teams of six, once your in your teams we will pull two team numbers and the two teams that have been pulled will go up on one platform and the team that they are against will go on the other side, once we say go, you must pull as hard as you can" the guard said as the crowd formed a line and watched as the guards walked over to them
"Number one, number sixty seven, number sixty nine, number one hundred and twelve, number two hundred and eighteen and number four hundred and fifty six, please stand on one side of the room, you are team one"
"We're all on a team!" Tyler whispered in happiness
"That's actually insane" Jenna whispered as she smiled as her face light up
The group walked to one side of the room but stayed away from each other
The guard darted calling out more numbers and putting them on teams as the main group looked over at the room where they will play
"Everyone should now be in teams, we may now pull your team number and the team you will be going up against, once we have pulled the first team, the other teams will watch as the two teams play against each other, once one team has been eliminated, the team has won will move on to the next game, when the first round is done, we will pull the other two teams and watch as they play against each other, the team that has won their round is free to go back to the main room and wait or watch as the other teams play together" the guard explained as the crowd faced one another
"You now have five minutes to make a strategy with your team, go!" the guard yelled up as the teams huddled up together and starting talking to one another
"So, what's the idea, team?" A voice called to the group
There was two men walking over to them
The group huddled up and started to talk to one another
"I say if we're one of the teams that play last, we watch the other teams strategy and try to follow it" Jenna whispered as she looked each of the other members in the eye
"Good plan" Josh whispered as he looked down at the ground
"Okay, anything else, like any ideas when we're actually playing and how to win?" The guy whispered, looking at the other members in the group
"Times up!" the guard called out as the teams spread out from each other
"Alright, everyone make a crowd with your teams, we are now pulling the first two teams" the Baird called out as they raised two pieces of paper in the air
The room went silent, before two of the guards shot three times in the air
"Team number three and team number one" the guard yelled out as the two teams started to get nervous
"Team number one follow me to the door" the guard said as the team followed him to the door
"I'm so scared" Tyler whispered
"It's going to be okay, we're a strong team together" Josh said as he put his hand on Tyler's back
It was all black before the two teams were on the platforms
It was a far drop into pitch black
"Grab the rope and get ready" the guard yelled out as the two teams gripped the rope tightly
"Go!" The Baird yelled as he shot in the air
The two teams started pulling on the rope and hard as they could, trying to keep balance
Eventually one of the other teams member fell from the platform as other started following along
"Come on, pull harder!" A guy called out from team number one
Eventually they pulled the other team over
"We did it!" A guy yelled as the team pulled the rope over
The rope zoomed back into place, causing Debby to almost fall before she left a hand around her waist
"Oh my god" Debby yelled as she closed her eyes and then opened them and looked down to see Jenna's hand on her waist
"I got you" Jenna whispered as she pulled her back onto the platform
"Team one wins!" The Baird yelled as the crowd started cheering
"We did it, thank god" Tyler whispered as the group walked back down the stairs and went into the first room as the crowd cheered them on
