Showdown

When it was time the remaining six people made it back into the main room
"You knew him, didn't you?" The guard asked as he stood beside Tyler's bed
Tyler didn't respond, his whole friend group was gone, the people that went after him after he took the location to these games had been eliminated, the person he loves took sacrifice for him
"Finally, the last six remaining members, number eight, number sixty nine, number one hundred and twelve, number two hundred and seventeen, number four hundred and twenty seven, and number four hundred and fifty six" the guard called out as they looked at one another
"You will be playing against one another, we will now wait for the speaker to come back on
-meanwhile-
"We got to find a way out of here, there's obviously a way down so there must be a way up" Debby whispered as the group looked around
"Didn't the guard that you killed have a gun, maybe we can shoot the guards that are remaining in the last game and hopefully save the remaining six members" Jenna said as Debby ran back in the area where she killed the guard
The gun was on the ground
"I got it" Debby said as she picked up the gun and ran over to them
"Guys! I found a ladder" Josh said as he pointed to a ladder leading to an upstairs level
"Nice job Josh, that must lead to the main area" Jenna said as the group started running towards the ladder and started climbing up to the room
-back with the games-
"Everyone follow me to the next room" the guard called out as the remaining six followed him to the next room
It took a while for Tyler to stand up but eventually he got up and followed the guards to the last room
"Here we are, the last room!" The guard yelled as a big plastic bag lowered onto the ground from the sky
The crowd gasped and watched as the money hit the ground
"The way to win this jackpot is to be the last one standing" the guard said
At that moment the two girls bursted into the room and started yelling
"Move, move, move!" Jenna yelled at she pushed her way through the people and started shooting at the guards
"I'm right behind you!" Debby said as she ran behind Jenna and started shooting as the crowd started running
"Woah! Get them!" A guard called out as he started shooting
"Debby, Jenna!" Tyler yelled out to them as Debby grabbed Tyler's hand and started running as the crowd started to fight off the guards
Loud gunshots were set off from the room
Once the guards were down everyone stopped running
A loud bang was shot as the headmaster came out of a room with Josh's body in his hands
"Josh!" Debby yelled as the headmaster put a gun to his head and a needle to his neck and yelled at the group of eight to stay back
"Take one more step and I'll shoot him" a deep voice yelled out to the crowd as they stopped moving
"Don't hurt him!" Tyler yelled in fear
He looked Josh in the eyes as Josh smiled at him
"You guys take the money and I'll take him" the headmaster yelled as he loaded his gun
"I don't want the money anymore! I want him!" Tyler yelled
"You're a good man, Tyler" Josh said, looking him in the eyes before a loud bang went off as the headmaster injected the needle into Josh's neck, causing him fall into the ground
The headmaster and Josh both fell onto the ground as Jenna held Tyler back from running
"Josh!" The group yelled
Tyler watched as blood poured out of Josh neck
"Josh!" Tyler screamed as he got out of Jenna's grip and started running towards Josh with tears in his eyes
His scream made an echo throughout the building, the building even started to shake a bit
"Josh! No!" Tyler screamed and fell onto his knees and hugged Josh's body on the ground, starting to cry
Tears ran down Tyler's face as he held Josh's body in his hands
His eyes were closed and pulse was out
"Josh" Tyler whispered as his voice started to shake as the remaining elements walked over to where Tyler was holding Josh's body
"I'm really sorry man, I couldn't save him in time" A voice said to Tyler
"Huh?" Tyler whispered as he looked up to see one of the guards take their mask off, revealing who they were
"Zach?" Tyler said as his eyes went soft
His brother that has been gone for years was standing in front of him
"Zach, what happened to you? You disappeared for so long" Tyler said as he gripped onto Josh's body harder
"The same thing that happened to you, happened to me, I thought this was a game to win money but never knew it was so deadly, after the first game I told the guards I didn't want to continue playing, the guards gave me a choice to play or become one of them, I knew it was the wrong thing to do but I didn't want to die and have the possibility to never see my family again" Zach explained before pausing in mid sentence
"I knew one day that I would be free, I never knew when though" Zach said as he looked Tyler in his eyes
"Please, let's go home" Zach said as he put his hand out to his younger brother
Tyler hesitated but eventually took his hand and stood up
The group went silent as they looked at Josh's body lying on the ground
"I'm so sorry Josh" Tyler said as tears ran down his face
The group stood there for a couple minutes before returning back home to where they belonged, Tyler was not the same as before, he knew that what Josh did was too nice
