"Keith? Is that you?" His mother called from the kitchen.

"Yeah momma. It's me." He responded.

She came out of the kitchen with flour caking her apron. I just had to smile. She reminded me of my mom.

"Who's this, dear?" His mom asked.

"This is my friend Ollie. She's new around here."

"Hi Ollie, my name is Katie. This here's Aria."

Aria smiled and waved. I smiled back.

"So Ollie, was Keith nice enough to offer you a place to stay?"

"Yeah, he was. I really appreciate it."

"it's no problem at all, dear. you need anything?"

"no thank you." i said shaking my head gently.

Two-Bit grabbed my hand and pulled me up the stairs. i squealed and got pulled into what looked like a guest room.

"this, m'lady, is your room." he said.

"thank you Two-Bit. you really didn't have to do this."

"where else would you have stayed, Ollie?" i shrugged.

i started putting whatever was in my ratty book bag. this thing has been with me through everything.

i pulled my old stuffed rabbit out of my book bag. i smiled at the memories of my early childhood.

flashback

it was my birthday and i was turning three.

"Olive! come here baby girl!" my mom called. i ran to her and she smiled. i miss her smile.

i took the small box from her and tore it open. i squealed out of excitement. i held the bunny tight.

"fank you momma!" i squealed and hugged her legs. she kissed my head.

flashback over

i finished putting my things away. i sighed and sunk into the bed.

i laid there thinking about how i just got here and i already made two friends. i think i'll stay.

"OLLIE!" Katie yelled from downstairs.

"coming!" i yelled back. i got up and stumbled down the stairs.

"yeah?"

"what do you want for lunch?"

"i don't know. i don't really care. i'm not picky."

"good to know. i'll call you, Keith and Aria down when lunch is ready."

"thank you." i ran back up to my room and laid back down on the bed.

"Ollie?" a small voice asked. i looked over and saw a little girl standing at my door.

"hi aria. come in." i said patting my bed. she came in and sat down with me.

"are you my sissy now?" she asked sweetly.

"you can call me that. i'm just your brothers friend though, sweetheart."

"okay." i pulled her onto my lap and held her close.

"i always wanted a sister." she said.

"me too kiddo, me too." i rubbed her back.

Two-Bit walked in and smiled.

"i see you made friends with my sister." i smiled and looked at her.

"she fell asleep. and she wants to call me sissy." i smiled.

"that's cute."

"how old is she?"

"she's four."

about fifteen minutes later Katie called us down for lunch. i carried Aria down and sat her in her chair.

we had grilled cheese sandwiches and some soup. i don't know what it was but it was really good.

"Keith, i have work tonight. can you keep an eye on Aria?"

"of course momma. when do you have to leave?"

"at two."

he nodded and finished eating. we all finished eating and then Katie started getting around for work.

aria was playing with her toys and i sat next to her watching Mickey Mouse. i'd never seen it before but i thought it was funny.

"bye guys! love y'all! aria be good for your brother and Ollie."

"i will momma."

then Katie left the house.

i sat there, in front of the tv screen, bored out of my mind. i played with aria for a while and she fell asleep again. i groaned and sighed.

"what's up Ollie?" two asked.

"i'm bored."

"lets go to my buddy's house."

"you can wake your sister up this time." i smiled. he kinda chuckled.

"aria, wake up sis." he said nicely.
she woke up and held onto his shirt.

"we are gonna go see Steve and Johnny and Darry and Dally."

she instantly perked up. we laughed and left the house.
