Chapter 31: Rejection

Sana was thinking what she should do meanwhile Sidharth slowly stood up and took Sana's hand.

"It's ok Sana. Tumhe kuch bolne ki zaroorat nahi hai. I know that you love me." Sidharth said.

He was about to put the ring on her finger, suddenly Sana took away her hand. She started moving backwards. Sidharth became confused.

"What happened Sana?" He asked.

"No Sidharth. I don't love you. I can't marry you." Sana said.

Sidharth felt that thousands of knives pierced his heart.

"Yeh tum kya bol rahi ho?" He asked.

"Yeh sach hai Sidharth. Aur tumne soch bhi kaise liya ki main tumse pyaar karti hoon? Tum bas mere acche dost ho." Sana said.

Sidharth couldn't believe his ears.

"Sirf dost? Lekin mujhe laga uss raat jo bhi hua uske baad humare bich sab kuch change hogaya hai...."

"Uss raat jo bhi hua woh bas ek accident tha. Main tut chuki thi aur apne dard ko bhulane ke liye mujhe tumhari zaroorat thi. Lekin mujhe kya paata tha uss galti ko tum pyaar samajh baithoge?"

"Agar woh raat tumhare liye ek galti thi tumne mujhe agle hi din kyu nahi baataya? I asked you many times."

"Haan maine kuch nahi baataya kyu ki main chahti thi ki humare bich sab kuch normal rahe. Isliye bhula dena chahti uss raat ko. Lekin aaj jo tumne kiya uske baad kuch normal ho hi nahi sakta. Isliye aaj ke baad naa hi tum mujhse miloge aur naa hi mujhe call karoge."

Sidharth was shocked. Tears started coming out from his eyes.

"So are you again rejecting me?" He asked.

"Yes. Aur accha hoga ki ab tum apne liye ek acchi si ladki dekh lo aur mujhe bhul jao. Kyu ki maine Aditya ke paas wapas jaane ka faisla liya hai. Wahi meri jagah hai." Sana said.

"Tum khush ho?" He asked.

Sana took off her eyes and said, "Haan Sidharth. Main bohut khush hoon."

"Toh phir tum meri aankho mein aankhein daal ke yeh baat kyu nahi bol paa rahi?"

Sana couldn't reply.

Sidharth grabbed her hand and pulled her towards himself. His eyes were red.

"Come on Sana. Look at me. Ek baar meri taraf dekh ke bol do ki tum mujhse pyaar nahi karti. Tum Aditya ke saath rehna chahti ho." He said.

Sana couldn't look at his eyes. Because she knew if she looked at his eyes, she would melt. She wouldn't be able to lie then.

"Maine kaha na tumse....."

"I SAID LOOK AT ME." Sidharth shouted.

"Sidharth chhoro mujhe." Sana screamed and freed herself from his grip.

"Pehle hi sab kuch complicated ho chuka hai. Ab isse aur complicated mat banao. Please Sidharth, I beg you. Mere piche apna time waste mat karo. I'm a married woman, an used good. Main kisi bhi angle se tumhare layak nahi aayi hoon. Phir bhi main tumhe apna leti, agar humare bich pyaar hota toh. Lekin aisa kuch bhi nahi hai. Isliye behtaar yehi rahega ki tum mujhe bhul jao aur main bhi apne husband ke paas wapas chali jaungi."

Sidharth wiped his tears and nodded.

"Thik hai. Chali jao. Main kaun hota hoon tumhe rokne wala? You are right. Humare bich kabhi bhi pyaar nahi tha. Bas ek galat faimi ho gayi thi." Sidharth said.

"Yeah. Sach mein bohut badi galat faimi ho gayi thi." Sana said and started leaving.

Sidharth stood their numb with a broken heart.
