The skinny jasper gasps and the Amethysts flinch as Holly smashed her fist harshly into the side of your head so hard you were seeing stars! "This is your first day on the job, and you pull something like this!" Her voice was low and booming, practically dripping in venom as she then grabbed your horn into her strong hand, and roughly jerked your head to the side, so your eyes with her own furious violet eyes. "Could you imagine what would happen if our diamonds saw what you did?!"

Your mind went blank in fear, as your mouth moved uselessly trying to think of an answer for her query. "Er... uh... uhm..." With a frustrated growl, she roughly shoved you to the ground, where you stood crouched, your limbs practically numb with anxiety as your muzzle wrinkled in a defensive growl. "Honestly, what use could a corrupt gem possibly-!"

"Sh-she caught the missing human!"

Holly looks over, to find the skinny jasper with a fearful look on her face. "What?" Skinny gulped, her fearful eyes flickering between the irate agate and you, who slowly rose to stand to full stance. "Y-yeah, she... she managed to catch the loose human and... convinced it to get back to the zoo!" She pointed to the zoo doors beside her. "She just got done putting it back in the zoo!"

Holly stared at the orange gem with a skeptical glower. She looked up at the zoo doors, her brow lifting slightly. It was like she had just noticed they were there. Holly then brought her attention to the two purple soldiers that still stood by it, knitting her brows. "Is this true?" They both hastily nodded.

Holly let out a low hum. "Well..." she slid her gaze slowly to you, her face softening into a dim look of irritation as she clasped her hands behind her back into a calmer stance. "...I'll admit that is an impressive feat. Especially for you." she muttered begrudgingly.

You felt yourself relax a bit, feeling a small triumphant smile start to creep up your-

"But that doesn't fully excuse such a reckless decision!"

Both the Ameythysts and skinny jasper flinched when Holly knocked you upside the head a second time. Not as hard, but still painful. "But... since you actually managed to return a specimen to the zoo so quickly, I'll let it slide. Just this once..." She resumed her calm stance, speaking in an almost condescending manner. "But if this ever happens again..."

You bowed your head to the Agate. "Yes, ma'am..."

"Good! Now then... you, off color-beta!" She turned her steely attention back onto the thin jasper. "Why don't you go ahead get back to your station, while me and these amethysts continue getting this... newcomer more acquainted with everything?" The skinny jasper hesitates, but gives her traditional diamond salute. "Yes, Holly."

"Now... come come. We have no more time to waste." With that, Holly walks ahead, leaving the four of you in an uncomfortable period of silence.

"Thank you, jasper." You muttered to the orange gem, to which she smiles thinly. "Hey, we earth gems gotta stick together, ya know?"

You stared at your paws, seeing your faint reflection in the shiny stone grounds. "But... How can anyone here deal with that kind of treatment...?"

The other Ameythyst shrugs. "We just... do." She admitted, with a solemn note in her voice. "It's all we really can do here. Listen and do what we're told."

You remained silent, mulling her words over. So... this is normal treatment to a gem that's slightly askew..?

You felt an arm wrap around your back and turned to see skinny leaning close to you. "Listen, fluffy. We're all in the same boat here. Not all of us are up for this whole, 'perfection' and 'class' stuff. But as long as the diamonds control things the way they do... there's... really nothing we can do."
