The hour was spent in a melancholic silence. They all knew the moment to say goodbye was coming, and as they drew closer, each step of the caravan added more weight to their chests. Nothing they could say would express it well enough. They had lived through ridiculous and unthinkable things in a considerably short time; they had faced themselves together. No one but each other would ever truly understand what they had gone through, and because of this, they had created an irreplaceable bond. And now most of them were leaving. It felt wrong to Nina. They had met on an adventure and had saved the world; they should stay together in the end. But she knew that was just the childish side of her making excuses. The truth was this group of girls had taught her to embrace who she was wholeheartedly and she had grown deeply attached to them, and losing them so shortly after having found them was a sad and painful reminder of what being an adult is like. This was an aspect of growing up that no magic could fight against. Sometimes people leave.
