Chapter Twenty-One: Truth and Tears

I sit outside the Masters house, the others are inside partying. I told Thorin to join them and that I needed time alone but really I wish he was with me right now. I hear the door open and close, someone comes down the step, I ignore them but then I feel a kiss on my temple. I turn to Thorin and sob into his chest.

"Shhh, amralime, it's alright" He says holding me.

"No it's not. I practically lied to you because I didn't tell you" I sob

"No, you must have had reasons not to but now I am asking can you tell me the full story starting from the beginning to now?"

I nod and sit up straight and look away.

"The full truth is what I told you and then some, see I escaped Mirkwood once and came here. A woman in town took me in and made me marry the Master's son. We had decided not to tell them what I was until the right time came. That time came when I found out I was pregnant. the Master and his son Jacob were furious about my secret. Jacob got himself killed by acting childish and messing with his friends and fell into the river and drowned. I was left to take care of our children Ari and Eydis. They were beautiful, they were also part skin-changer and could change by their first year just like most of us. When they were two, I left them with my gaurdian to go to market, when I got back she was dead and Ari and Eydis were missing. I searched, I found and abandoned house and saw them being held by that snake Alfrid, standing with him was Thranduil. I begged them to let them go but they refused and said that all skin-changers must die, I tried to stop them but Thranduil attacked me and made me watch. After he took me back to Mirkwood still holding the previous grudge and you know the rest" I say, I keep my eyes away fearing what he may say.

Thorin surprises me though and hugs me and kisses me passionately. When we pull away he puts his forehead to mine.

"You're not mad? You don't hate me?" I ask slightly shocked

"No, never ever. I love you Lilja" Thorin says

"I love you too, Thorin"

After the party, we are lead to a house where we will be staying. I sit down on my bed, Thorin enters the room and smiles at me, I smile back.

Thorin comes over to the bed and sits down, he pulls me into his lap and kisses me passionately on the lips. He moves slowly to my neck and kisses it. He pulls me closer to him. He looks me in the eyes before kissing me passionately again.

He pulls away "I love you, amralime"He says with his forehead on mine.

"I love you too Thorin Oakenshield" I say and softly kiss him.

He pulls me so we are laying side by side. "I'm worried about tomorrow" I say

He pulls me closer to him and I lay my head on his chest, he kisses my head.

"We'll be fine, we'll win" Thorin says

"I still can't help but worry, I don't want to lose you. What if there is a dragon in there? What if you fall to the dragon sickness? I could lose you!" I sob

"Shhh, amralime. You won't lose me to death or to the dragon sickness and if the dragon is in there we'll kill it"

"But Thorin...."I start but am cut off by his lips on mine, kissing me passionately.

"Don't worry about things now, lets just enjoy this time we have together before tomorrow" He say, I nod and kiss him.

"I love you please remember that, no matter what happens I love you" I tell him

"I love you too, from now and forever"He says kissing me

I cuddle closer to him and sigh, he starts playing with my hair sending shivers down my spine. I look at my rings. Oh how I miss my family, Thorin notices and hugs me tightly.

"They would be proud of how far you have come you know that right?" Thorin says

I nod "Yours would be too, my love. They would be proud that you are going on this quest" I say. I kiss him, he smiles into the kiss and deepens it.

"You need to sleep, you look exhausted and probably are in pain, sleep amralime" Thorin says.

"I'm fine, honestly Thorin" I say and move slightly and get a pain in my side "Ahh" I say, Thorin looks at me worried.

"What's wrong?" He asks worried.

"Just moved wrong, that's all my love" I say

"Sleep amralime"He says and kisses my head

I snuggle closer to him, he holds me tightly and I drift off to sleep.

Dream:

I am chained up in a strange dungeon. The pale orc Azog grabs my face.

"Time for some fun" He sneers

I am then whipped and cut and beaten. I scream in pain, Azog laughs.

I am tortured for what seems like hours, I am then dragged back to my cell and left for a short while. I am dragged back to the torture chamber and whipped and cut and beaten. I scream in agony.

I wake up screaming, it's still dark out, I feel someone touch my arm. I prepare to fight and almost hit the person but they grab my hand.

"It's me haban" Thorin says, I sigh and fall against him.

"Sorry I woke you Thorin, go back to sleep I'm fine" I say

"No, your not kurdunuh, tell me what happened"

"Just the usual, me being tortured, am I never going to get these visions out of my head?" I ask sobbing, Thorin pulls me close.

"I do not know haban, but what I do you know is, I'll always be here for you"

"What does haban mean?"I ask

"It means my gem" Thorin says

"I love you" I say

"Men lananubukhs menu sanzeuh"Thorin says, I smile at him and drift off to sleep again.
