Riley

The moment I got in through that door the first stop I made was my room firmly locking the door. I didn't know when this first started that this would be one of the outcomes
When I joined the team I didn't want any of this, I wanted this to be something that that I enjoyed, something fun to take my mind off of the usual stress in my life

But what if it was quite the opposite

'FLASH BACK

I walked into the office just a few moments behind Kate, she firmly closed the door. She rested her self against the desk before tutting her teeth at me sighing

"What is going on Riley" She asked making me stare blankly at her

"When I made you Dance Captain, I expected more from you. This is not how Emily would have handled it" She continued to explain

"Hunter felt like his input would have been better served in a different way" I explained
"Riley, I gave you the small group and I told you who was in it" She argued

"but if it hindered the group, wouldn't the change be more beneficial?" I asked and she shook her head

"The role of a Dance Captain is to encourage her dancers to reach the best of their ability. Not to pull them when things get a little hard" She continued

"I thought that you would have at least had this dynamic of your sisters Riley" She explained
"To say I'm disappointed is the least" She said

"So you want me to be a complete copy of Emily?" I asked making Miss Kate look at me not realising what she had already implied
"if that is what you want. That's what I can give you" I said making her smile

Clearly this was what she wanted'

Miss Kate isn't the first person who told me I should be more like Emily. Maybe everyone was right, who cares about the true Riley.
I needed to learn to please everyone else

I walked downstairs grabbing a bin bag from the kitchen before retreating back to my room
but of course I didn't get very far before the front door opening revealing James and Emily stood there with a worried look on their face
"What are you doing Riles" Emily said stepping forward cautiously
"What needs to be done" I muttered walking back upstairs fast enough that neither of them could get to me

Locking the door behind me I headed straight to my wardrobe pulling out all the clothes that I knew were too Riley for the next step in this plan
One by one all my loose fitting, bright coloured clothes were thrown into the bin bag only leaving a couple more fitting dance clothes, some more tight fitting day to day clothes

Everything Emily would usually wear. In fact I'm sure most of it was passed down from Emily.

It was done, there was no turning back. I walked over to the mirror before taking my pair out of its usual ponytail with a little puff at the front
I brushed it through thoroughly before I began to braid it back into a bun like Emily always does then it comes to dance

I took one more look at myself before nodding
This was the new Riley. Or should we say Emily 2.0

As I walked downstairs with the black bag trailing behind me, the moment I got down there, 11 familiar faces looked at me even more confused the more I looked at them
"What in the hell" Hunter said making me raise a brow
"Riley?" James asked stepping forward with the attempt to wrap an arm around me to which I quickly moved away walking out side to throw the bin bag away

"What was in the bag Riley?" Emily warned me as I came back inside
"Just some clothes I'm not going to need anymore" I said retreating back upstairs but this time James quickly followed behind

"Riley wait" He called trying to get close again but I shook my head
"I think it's best we keep things on a professional basis James. Dance has to come first" I said making him furrow his brows at me

"What is going on Riley?" He asked and I stood there confidently for the first time in my life

"Everyone wanted an Emily Carbon Copy. That's what they got" I said before closing the door behind me leaving James out there
