"Do you think it'll work though?" I asked James as we sat behind The Next Step a few evenings later, he chuckled nodding
"It's worked so far hasn't it?" He offered making me roll my eyes
"I need to go meet Emily" I sighed looking at the time 

James pouted making me chuckle
"Do you have to?" He asked and I nodded
"If I don't she'll question where I am and we know who that'll get back to" I warned him making him sigh

"fine but one thing first" He said as we we both stood up, I looked at him a little confused 
But without a second to spare he grabbed my waist picking me up and placing me sat on the picnic table before crashing our lips together 

With a small giggle, we pulled apart with wide smiles on our face
"What was that for?" I whispered as James tucked a piece of my hair behind me hair

"Just to make sure you don't go forgetting about me" He teased before pressing our lips together again

I walked into the house that evening to not see Emily in her usually spot in the living room
Dad's car wasn't outside but there was a light or two on so she was around here somewhere 
"Riley!" Emily's voice called making it known that she was in the back garden

The closer I got the more voices I could hear, as soon as I was out on the porch I was met with a few faces. One of which I never wanted to see again
"Riles, come meet everyone" Emily said motioning me over

I walked over, knowing full well I had to entertain this
"Riley these are the boys from the team. We have Oscar, Toby, Mason, Jackson and well you know Henry" She explained making me nod 
I looked over at Henry to see the same usual dirty smirk on his face as usual while he had an arm wrapped around my sister

"Where have you been anyway?" Emily asked 
"Doesn't A-Troupe finish at 7?" Henry said looking at his watch. It was gone 9 at this point so it was a little suspicious

"It does but considering how many routines I have. I think I need as much time in the studio as I can" I explained making Emily nod
"I can't believe what Kate has put onto you" Emily said sipping her drink
"You must be good though?" Oscar asked making me shrug 

"What are you in?" Toby asked
"She's in two duets, a small group, a trio, a 6 person dance and what else?" Emily asked
"Just a solo" I finished making the boys widen their eyes
Well all but one..

"How are the duets coming along considering?" Emily asked. I hate how oblivious she is right now

"They are fine. Becky and I have ours down to a tee at this point" I explained making Henry smirk and raise a brow
"How about you and James?" He asked making me take a deep breath in

"Who's James?" Oscar asked
"Her Ex, they broke up a couple weeks ago" Henry chuckled
"The duet is fine. We aren't really in the mood to practice it lately" I said avoiding eye contact from everyone 

Emily caught my eye one more time before offering me a warm smile
"Dad isn't home till Monday now so if you want you can invite someone over?" She offered
"I think the boys are most likely staying?" Emily asked looking around at the boys 

"I think I'll pass, since the split the team and I aren't exactly on the best of terms" I said. It was a lie, the only person on the team with a problem is Hunter but I didn't want to drag anyone else into this mess

"Are you sure? Not even Michelle? Becky?" She asked but I shook my head

"It's okay. I'll see them tomorrow at Dance" I said making the boys look at us confused
"You dance on Saturday?" Jackson asked
"Yeah at The Next Step. The only day you get off is Sunday. Monday to Friday it's from school to 7pm then Saturday its 12 until 5pm" Emily reminded them

"Maybe we'll pop in tomorrow and scope out the-" Henry started before smugly smiling 

"Competition" He smirked
