Chapter 4 – Bonfire

"We were surprised that the bonfire was at yours this year," the guys from his class commented as the elders started gathering and speaking of politics, "It came as a surprise for me as well actually," Asher replied dryly whilr sitting close to the bonfire.

His older brother of nine years Luke was returning from his studies in London, their mother insisted that the bonfire shall be held at them, she wanted to throw a surprise for him and he had yet to arrive.

Although they weren't allowed to drink the alcohol served Asher never followed those weak rules as he grabbed the glass from the trays of the servants, "How much could we consume without turning like our parents.. all intoxicated and flimsy.." Robert asked making Asher shrug with a blank look as he gulped the liquid that rushed a burning sensation on his throat that made him almost cough,

God was this the reason why fourteen-year-old shouldn't drink?

Once the burn went away Asher held the glass in rise, "Lets take a second glass and find out, where is the rest of the people anyways?" Asher asked, but what he truly meant was where is she.

Had she decided not to come because the bonfire wasn't now at their house? Had she backed out? Although he bullied her she never showed affected by it, not in the terms of crying like girls actually would do.. but he knew far to long that Felicity was not like the rest of the girls in his class. She didn't hide her anger, she didn't retreat, she didn't freight away. And he never got bored of it, it was as if he couldn't get enough of pushing her buttons.

Getting her attention,

"Woah, bloody hell is that felicity?!" the howls of appreciation broke his thoughts and he tensed at her name, following the gaze of his friends announcement he felt a sudden knock inside of his guts,

There she was

Her strawberry hair was down leaving her looking like some queen descended from another world, here to spit him, she wore a gown that matched her eyes, he knew exactly how blue they were, not the blues of the sky, but the blues of sapphire, dark and deep.

His chest tightened so hard that he forced himself to look away even if his friends was now gloating opening, he couldn't let her think he felt the same, "Morons," he muttered causing Robert and Blake to stop looking, he wanted to punch their faces for ogling at her far to long but what authority did he bloody have?

Thankfully her body disappeared as her friends surrounded beside her,

"You don't find her pretty? Common, Alright she might not be hot as charlotte, but she is pretty.. really pretty" Robert drawled, and Asher did punch his arm, he winced and rubbed the spot, "Hey I know you two aren't at fond but god hell! She isn't ugly as you state,"

The rest of the boys nodded in agreement, "She is really pretty," Blake cut in

"Beautiful,"  Edward continued making Asher stand up in haste, god he couldn't stand to hear those words least from his friends, she was stunningly beautiful, but he would be the last one to say that.

"Hey were are you going!" he heard their shouters but he didn't bother to comment as he only grabbed another glass from the treys of the servants, they clearly knew he was a underage but they wouldn't comment on the son of a noble man.

He didn't know where he was going, just that he couldn't stand to be confronted by his mates, and the fact that she had surprised him in a way he hadn't anticipated.

He tossed some stones on the ground with his feet as he followed the wind, suddenly he could hear his name being called and he glowered at his friends when he saw them sitting with her and some other girls,

Bloody hell! What were they doing?

Without himself noticing he was already stalking towards them,

"There he is! Ash, we were just playing bottle spin..." Robert smirked as Asher plopped down on the bench that could hold them all,

Unfortunately she was right across him leaving him with no focus whatsoever,

The bonfire was glistening on her strawberry hair, making her look like fire was on her,

She was no fire girl.... She was a fire queen... a fire witch...

"Are you there Asher," he woke up from his gawking and realised everyone was looking at him with knowing looks, everyone beside her who was looking at anyone besides him,

Perfect.

He cleared his throat feeling an annoyance on how weird he was behaving, "You were saying?"

Normally he could always control his emotions before, even when he had to sit right behind her, sensing the addicting scents of watermelon coming from her, even then he had been able to hold it in.

"We asked If your In on the game?, so the one that the bottle lands on will confess who they want to go out to the ball with," Robert said and Asher glowered at him in irritation, his stupid friends are acting like ten year olds, playing this childish game, he could sense that he wouldn't like this game at all. Yet he didn't leave and instead nodded boringly for them to start,

His eyes fell back on hers who was busy looking elsewhere, when he followed her gaze he realised she was looking at Colton.

So she was liking the nanny boy? The boy that seemed far more occupied with correcting the style of his hair and attire rather than playing outside.

He snorted causing her gaze to snap her gaze at him, sitting In front of the bonfire as she was doing know made her eyes glimmer even more as she looked displeasingly at him, "No-uh for gods sake, can you two lay It down for this game at least?" an voice interrupted their rivalry stares that they both were more into rather than the game,

"Shut up," Asher snapped at him as she quickly adverted her gaze.

He watched as the stupid game started, the bottle first landed on the girls, Asher didn't bother to find out who, she was stammering through out her words before saying a name, the guy threw a fist in the air as the bottle once spun, then stopped

"Felicity!" Robert announced and Asher acted like he didn't care, he looked anywhere as he wondered who the bloody hell she was going to pick, when she didn't speak he snapped his gaze to hers seeing that she was already looking at him, his breath halted and in that insane moment he actually believed... or was it hope to hear his name from her mouth,

"Colton Butterfield," she broke the silence causing everyone to howl and look at him now, Asher clenched his jaw so hard he wouldn't be surprised if it broke.

Why the hell did he feel like pouncing on Colton? And why the hell did he feel anger towards her, one that burned inside of him and out.

What the hell was happening to him?
