Chapter 27

Asher had never felt anything so close to violence in his life ever. It had been only five days since he had returned back to London. His rage should have burned out but it only fuelled more when he thought of it, never in his life had a woman rejected him, and to think that it was his first time putting thought on taking her as his wife

it was constantly plaguing his mind--- she had rather chosen work, and everything there possibly could be than to be married to him,

He didn't know what to do with the rage that fuelled inside of him, her words replaying in his mind uncontrollably, 'you would force me into marrying you?'

She had compared marrying him like a prisoner sentenced to hell, with a pained breath he squashed it down with the glass of alcohol in his hand, the burning sensation of the liquid calming him for a moment,

His door opened without his allowance and he was about to scowld whoever the bastard was, "Early celebration?" His brothers voice filled the room, spinning the glass between his fingers he regarded him with a tight smile that felt strained, "I wouldn't say celebration" he murmured darkly as his brother draped on the chair across him,

"tell me how you succeeded, the news have been heard across the country, the Italians and Russians have signed our contract, I nearly couldn't believe it, father had a hard time pleasing them and you succeeded in what? Less then three months" Luke chuckled his blonde locks tussled over his forehead, had it been another day Asher would find delight into telling him every detail, but he was not in the mood, and neither that he reminded him of her, what she was capable of, how valuable she was for the company.

Asher hadn't told Luke that Felicity even worked here, so it would be a long story, "It is a long story, and overtiring quite frankly,"

As always his brother grinned, "I have plenty of time, and the things I have heard was unbelievable!"

Asher oddly rolled the glass again before swallowing the liquid drastically, he knew he was feeling tipsy when his tongue rolled before his mind was functioning, "Tell me brother, the time you proposed,"

A flash of pain flickered between Luke's gaze, then a smile rested upon his lips, "We were by a lake and I had prepared the whole day with a picknick basket, boquets of flowers and like a fickle boy I was shaking inside, nervous and drained, don't know how I said it seemed that it couldn't be all that bad since she didn't run the opposite,"

His brother was a romantic, or perhaps Asher was emotionless for those sort of things that he felt that it was romantic for his taste, when it came to women, Asher liked to call them when he needed to satisfy him and then toss when one became to resistant with him,

But he didn't feel that with Felicity, not even near, he couldn't imagine have wanting a woman again as he wanted her that morning, he could remember her touches, her sounds, her lips, who knew behind that ice glacéd woman were a passionate yielding woman,

"Why are you asking by the way," Luke broke his thoughts,

"Nothing precisely, it was a friend of mine who had been rejected,"

Luke nodded, "Well that is another case then if he were rejected, perhaps the woman is not ready for marriage then, or that she doesn't think he loves her, it could be that, or simply that she doesn't love him,"

Asher pondered on his words, he couldn't bare to think that she had no feelings for him when she was consuming his every thought, it couldn't be that, she wouldn't had let him take her innocence, open yielding to him as she did,

She maybe was afraid of marriage, it made sense she dodged every suitor of hers, he had gathered the information from a close source, "And most importantly I would suggest you--- I mean your friend to be honest with himself,"

Asher nodded deep in thoughts, he had felt a fright when she had walked away, he wondered if she would return from the holiday break everyone was now received, he had been so furious with her that he hadn't bother to bid her goodbye as he informed his footman to take her home.

And that was what he saw of her after their three day trip that has changed everything now. She could be very much carrying his child, yet she had only dismissed his words telling him she would tell him if that happened. And he threaded on the possibility.

He hadn't realised that Luke was still present and was observing him closely, "I wondered when I would witness the day my 'emotionless' brother would daydream and seemed that it came more quickly than I anticipated, do tell me who is the woman who caught your attention longer than proximately 10 seconds,"

Over his dead body that he would tell his brother what hypocrite he had been all those years, teasing his brother for falling in love as he himself fell for the same woman again,

He would rather die to confess she had rejected him more than he could count by now, "So you say?, I never took you for an inspector, brother" he lifted a brow

"Even a blind man could notice, because a woman makes a man this way, a special one. And you my friend better come to that realisation before you lose her when its to late,"
