My fingers---no, Emery's fingers couldn't help but to fidget on my lap as Evan or Emery's brother that I would rather not think about anymore drove all the way to where I wanted him to lead us. Buong gabi akong gising, I tried browsing and searching about body shifting and time twisting like what's happening to me right now. I didn't have the time to reach out Emma, Emery and the others.
My eyes were stained on the straight direction instead of looking at the driver's seat of the car. I didn't want to see this Evan's irritating look but I needed to. So I shifted my eyes on him. Nagulat ko nang sa akin na siya nakatuon. Hell, he really looked like Emery but a boy version. This dude!
"Ts," I hissed with impatience.
"You sure? Si Austin ba talaga ang rason ng pagpunta natin sa bahay nila?" he asked, sometimes looking at the straight road. My lips parted but the inner me was trying to calm down.
"Sino pa ba? Si Austin, siyempre. May mahalaga akong gustong sabihin sa kanya, 'yon lang," I told him and crossed my arms. Sumimangot akong pumikit.
"Pft, kailan ka pa ba nag-deny kung tungkol kay August?" natatawang sabi ng magaling na kapatid ni Emery. "I know---- almost everyone knows that you're so into August!"
Oh, really? I was so pissed. And does everyone know that I'm so into Emery? I better punch this man if I ever come back to my real body.
"Ts," I mumbled. "May gusto lang talaga akong sabihin kay Austin. At puwede ba? Kung puwede lang, ha? Kanselahin na muna natin itong hangout nating ito kasi may mahalaga talaga akong gagawin." I gritted my teeth. "Since pupunta naman tayo sa bahay nila Austin, doon ka na lang muna sa Kuya niya sumama."
Instead of receiving Evan's playful and light laughter like how he usually laughed every time I get pissed off of him, I received his troubled face. The dude showed an unusual expression that even I who was used to his playful attitude got bothered.
He avoided my gaze. "Are you alright? Emery? You're not like this. You're not like that, what happened?"
"Galit ka ba sa akin? Did August tell you something so hurtful? I shouldn't have brought you if you're not feeling well." He gulped and I gawked when his voice was filled with worries. He's worried about Emery. Anong pag-uugali ba ang naipakita ko?
Ugali ko.
"You never called August as "Kuya ni Austin". What happened? Anong ginawa ni August?"
So this guy's really supporting Emery to his buddy August, huh? Come on, does this Evan know about a humiliation he's doing right now? Pero hindi niya lang alam? Okay, okay. I'll show him what humiliation is after I get back go my body. A punch is enough? Double it. Silly me. Should I be thinking about this?!
Austin's life is on the line!
I looked away from Evan and rested my head on the window. If this was a chance that's given for me to stop Austin, why would I waste it? Why would I lose Austin once again?
Who told me that I would let my friends cry again? Why would I let myself and the other lose something that's very valuable?
He's Austin, he's my dude!
"Ayos lang ako, Kuya. Talagang iba lang iniisip ko kanina," sabi ko kay Evan sa tonong kagaya ng iginagawad ni Emery sa kanya. Medyo gumaan ang pakiramdam ng kasama ko sa sasakyan dahil nakita ko ang ngiti niya. Somehow, it felt so fine for me--- as Logan.
"Good, Emery."
"But you're really seeing August right?!" he added in a teasing voice. Gusto ko sanang magalit pero ngumiti na lang ako. I knew he's testing if Emery do have a problem with August by teasing me.
"Yeah, I guess so," I answered.
"Now that's the Emery I know," he said. Okay, just shut up for now so I could focus on thinking of a way to stop Austin effectively. He's really decided to go and meet Luciana with Sophia. What if I'll jut punch her with Emery's body? In that way, he'll understand how serious Emery was to save him.
No, masisira ko si Emery sa gusto niyang si August. That's not right.
No matter how much I like Emery, I would not make a way to ruin her from the person she admires the most. Silly!
Nang makarating na kami sa bahay nila Austin ay ako pa ang unang bumaba saka dumiretso sa loob ng bahay nila Austin. Some people inside saw me marching confidently inside the house. Well--- I could easily do this as Logan but for Emery, she could not.
"Wait, Emery!" pagpigil ni Evan sa akin na humahabol pero nagmamadali pa rin ako sa paghahanap kay Austin.
Finally, I found his brother August. Kalalabas niya lang sa kuwarto niya at may dalang malaking box. His pale-looking eyes met mine with shockness when he saw me.
Medyo tumalikod pa ito at ibinaba ang buhat na box para ayusin ang kuwelyo. Oh, look! Pumoporma kay Emery kasi nakita niya!
"H-Hey! Emery!" Evan shouted from behind.
I was about to face August who was about to carry the box but someone called from Emery's phone so I immediately picked and answer the call.
Even if my own number called Emery's phone, hindi na ako nagtagal. Whoever, called me using my number, it's a dude I know.
"Hello! This is Emma! I'm on Logan's body now! Emery! Answer me! Where are you! Emery!"
Oh, come on. Emma, what now? Are you kidding me?!
