Gracee's POV

"Are we gonna die?" Ned asks fearfully.

"Nobody dies on my watch." Happy says sternly.

"I wasted my life playing video games, and we're gonna die."

"Ned, no one's dying." I don't turn around to face everyone behind me, and instead focus on the door that is being hit with shockwaves from the drones.

"I have a fake ID, and I've never even used it." Betty admits.

"No one's dying!" I raise my voice.

"I post stupid videos daily for people to like me!" Flash whines.

Everybody looks at me, waiting for me to say something. I keep my gun pointed at the door as I look back at them, realizing that Betty is pointing a spear at the door and MJ is holding a weapon with a spiked ball.

"What?"

"Aren't you supposed to say something to make me feel better?" Asks Flash.

"Yeah, you're the only positive one here." Betty says.

"She's right." MJ agrees.

I look at Happy for help, and he shrugs. "I mean, they're not wrong..."

"Harold Joseph Hogan!"

At the mention of his full name, he looks back at Flash. "Hey! If it wasn't for those stupid videos, Spider-Man would've never found you."

"Spider-Man? Spider-Man follows me? I saved us, guys!"

"If you saved us, then why are we about to die?!" Yells MJ.

"MJ! Stop it!" Ned, Betty, and Happy yell.

"I'm sorry, okay?! I'm obsessed with telling the truth even if it hurts people's feelings!"

"I'm in love with Spider-Man's aunt." Happy blurts out, and we all look at him, dumbfounded. "We're sharing, right?"

"I knew it!" I yell, just as the drones break down the door.

I prepare to shoot them, but they instantly turn off. I don't lower my gun, knowing that it it can't be over just yet. We all wait for the next threat, and sure enough more drones come towards the now open door.

"Give me the spear." Happy says to Betty.

"That's a halberd." Ned corrects.

Well, you learn something new every day.

Betty gives him the halberd and I prepare to shoot, when suddenly, the drones all fly away. I am first to cautiously exit the room, and everyone waits anxiously behind me.

"Are they gone?" Betty whispers.

"They're gone." I sigh, relieved.

Everyone cheers and I put the safety back on my gun and then slide it back into the gun holster around my waist.

"Hap, we'll talk about your love life later, but I have to go find Spider-Man."

"Can we just forget I said anything?"

"Definitely not."

"Don't be stupid." MJ says.

"Come on, do you really have no faith in me?" I smirk.

"No faith whatsoever." MJ smiles.

I turn to run away but Happy stops me. "Gracee, Wait!"

I watch as he pulls a broken necklace out of his pocket, handing it to me. It's a black dahlia necklace. I don't have to ask Happy who bought it to know that it was Peter. I look at Happy and he nods, confirming what I already know.
