Karan watched her going with a sad glance. He didn't want to do this but it has been going on for too long. Since when he had to just keep quiet and let her suffer alone.
He wanted her trust......she did trust him with all her being but what could it be that she is hiding that she doesn't trust him with it.
Is he really still the same?
The question ran through his mind....engulfing himself with guilt.....guilt but he is innocent. He changed for her....He sacrificed many things till date not even his closest friends or his most trustworthy man his own brother sameer.
He couldn't take it anymore.......Waking up every morning to the same eyes the same secrets and still she smiled like her eyes could lie
Was he that bad
Did he fail before it even start
Must he give her space
Is he suffocating her
All kinds of things were running in his mind and if continued to think about it.....the result wasnt promising.
He took an outfit and made his way out of the room to the guest room. He took a cold shower but still it felt like the water was not cold it was just normal.
Freshening up he went torwards Sameers room. He knocked the door and heard a faint come in.
He entered and saw sameer drinking a cup of coffee typing something on his laptop.
Karan: Sammy can we talk
Sameer: You brought it up today
Karan: How did you know
Sameer: I am your younger brother but other than that I am the only trustworthy friend you have except bhabhi
Karan: She still didn't open up
Sameer shut his laptop finally looking at his brother who was sitting with his head looking at the floor his hands entangled in between his open legs
Sameer: I know that it's not easy but give her time
Karan: Sammy even though i am being impatient but I have been waiting.....She knows that I have always known.....She knows that I can read her better than the alphabet yet she still keep it hidden
Sameer: Bhabhi is sensitive you also know that
Karan: She opened up about everything else but still she is hiding something
Sameer: Bhai.....I want to help you but you both have known each other since your pre-school years
Karan: Sammy we know each other in a way that even our parents never knew of
Sameer: I am aware but why the sudden feelings bhai
Karan: Every morning i look into her eyes even on the darkest of nights she is hurt.....I wonder if i am the reason...I ask she says NO
Sameer: And you believe her
Karan: I know when she is lying Sammy
Sameer: Okay then what is your problem exactly
Karan: She says she trusts me but today she said otherwise.....She said she doesn't know if i am still the same....I told her everything Sammy.....everything that i experienced but in her case she told me half of the truth
Sameer: Why dont you give her a deadline
Karan:I told her I give up on trying Sammy I do everything for our relationship for our family I try my utter best to give her the world....I know my history is not the best and when i opened up about everything to her I told her it's better she lets me go but she decided to stay with me and my burning fire.......She had a choice but still till today i don't know Why she chose me
Sameer: She loves you bhai
Karan: She does but what is love without trust
Sameer: Act normal with her bhai....love her...be with her she will open up
Karan: I know but I don't know Sammy every night she gets panick attacks....nightmares I try to calm and I get successful but for every nightmare there is an incident that happened for nightmares to occur
Sammy: But you have known her since you guys were still small
Karan: Sammy this started after during our college days because only during our college days she started tracing nightmares but before those days mid way past school she suddenly had those empty hurt eyes
Sameer: So something did happen
Karan: Yes but still i don't know what it's been our whole life we know each other but she doesn't trust me NOW because of my self-isolation for the past two years
Sameer: Bhai why don't you try to find out yourself
Karan: I tried Sammy but I got nothing it's like whoever knows what happened cleaned everything and I am feeling helpless
Sameer pats his shoulder standing from his seat
Sameer: Its ok bhai.... I can't relate but I can yell you one thing bhabhi will surely open up to you.....that I know so come lets go have breakfast you must have things to do today
Karan(sighs): You are right...let's go before Kritika thinks something stupid
They stood up and made their way downstairs and saw preeta finishing up with the table and Kritika was stealing some samoosas munching then without preetas notice.
They chuckled seeing their forever baby sister who seems to never grow.
Preeta who was lost in setting everything looked up hearing some chuckles and looked at karan who was not even looking in her direction. She sighed and smiled at both of them
Preeta: Sameer karan...you both can settle yourselves so long while I finish setting everything...you can have some samoo....
She stopped in her words looking at the tray that apparently had samoosas but now seemed empty with a few crumbs. She looked on to see kritikas mouth full and she was smiling nervously
Preeta: Kritika where are the samoosas
Kritika: Bhabhi I will do all the chores no worries it's my payment for the samoosas
Preeta: You have two days then
Kritika made a crybaby face but knew that there was no way out
