Chapter 27: Wherefore Art thou Romeo

Me and Corey lay in his bed cuddling with each other. I play with his fingers and try not to think about leaving tomorrow.

"Corey?" I gently say.

Corey props himself up on his hand and says, "Yea?"

"Did you ever expect this to happen?" I ask.

I can feel his lip touch my neck and linger there for a couple of seconds.

"What?" Corey asks curiously.

"Us..." I say.

Corey turns my head towards him, and I turn the rest of my body towards him too.

"No, but I hoped it would." Corey says with sincerity.

I smile and say, "Do you regret it?"

"Not one bit." he responds.

"Me neither... but, did you ever think that we would see each other again." I say "I didn't think I would ever see you again." I add.

Corey pulls me closer and says, "Remember that day when I left? I said that one day I would see you again, some day, somehow." Corey whispers.

"Yea." I smile.

"Don't worry." Corey says.

I think about mine and Corey's creation now growing within me.

 Next Day.

It's the last day of school, and I'm backstage getting ready for the play.

I finish dressing in my Juliet gown, and sit down to have my hair and makeup done by Diana Knowles.

 30 minutes later.

I get up from the chair with my hair and makeup done. I look in the mirror and I go in shock. I can't even recognize myself. My hair was in an intricate up-do with curls hanging down, and light, but, brought out my bright green eyes.

"Wow..." I hear someone say.

I turn to find Corey dressed in the Romeo costume. It accentuated his physique.

I smile at him and say, "Wow yourself."

Corey comes to me and spins me around.

"Wow, you look gorgeous." he exclaims.

I giggle at this.

"Are you ready?" I ask.

"Yea, you?" he says.

"I'm a little nervous." I respond.

I'm nauseous too, but, that has nothing to do with the play.

"Hey, Guys! Were on in 5!" Mrs. Ash shouts.

I look at Corey and smile, "Well, this is it." I say.

Me and Corey get last minute touches, and get in our places.

 2 and half hours later.

Me, Corey and the rest of the cast take a bow as the crowd cheers, and the curtain closes.

"You did great." Corey complimented me.

"You too. I say with a smile.

Corey leans in and kisses me, "I'm going to go change, ok?' Corey says.

I nod my head and get changed my self.

I go out to the crowd and look for my grandmother.

"Summer, sweetie you were great." I hear my grandma say.

I turn around towards her and give her a hug.

"Thank you! I've missed you." I say.

"I've missed you too. Well, shall we get your stuff?" she asks.

"Can we wait for Corey?"  I ask.

"Sure, sweetie." she says.

Eventually Corey comes out and he gives my grandmother a hug.

"Hi, Mrs. Houseman." Corey says with a smile.

"Hi, sweetheart. you were great." she congratulates him.

"I'll follow you guys to the hose. Ok?" she says.

"No, problem." Corey says with a smile.

We all leave and drive back to the house to collect my things.

As I grab my things. I have this very overwhelming feeling of sadness. Corey comes in and sits on my bed. He has this look of sadness.

"I can't believe your actually leaving." Corey says.

I walk over to Corey and he puts his head on my chest, and caresses my sides. I lift his chin and say, "I won't be far. I'll still be in Santa Carla, I'll see you at graduation and I'll be there before you take off for UCLA."

Corey gets up and kisses me deeply. I break the off the kiss and grab my bags.

"I don't want to make this harder then it is." I say furrowing my brow.

"Yea." Corey say while looking away.

I feel so bad not telling him about the baby; but I can't. I just don't want to hold him back from life.

I go downstairs and out to my grandmother's car.

"You ready?" my grandmother asks.

I nod my head and put my bags in the car.

I turn around and give Judy a hug.

"Bye, sweetheart. I'll make sure to visit, and make sure you take care of yourself." Judy says with a smile.

Then I turn to Corey and give him a hug.

"I'll see you at graduation, and before you leave for UCLA. I promise." I say and give him a kiss.

Corey looks at me and gives me a half-smile, but, I could detect some pain.

"Bye." He says gently, and gives me a kiss on my forehead.

"Bye." I whisper and get in the car, and head off.
