"Spider-Girl? What's your status?" asked Peter, through Dani's coms.
Peter felt a sinking feeling, in his stomach, after not hearing his protege respond. They'd just stopped a fire, in Greenwich. Peter had gotten out, but Dani, on the other hand, was still in the building.
"Spider-Girl? You there?" Spider-Man asked, once more. "Kid, do you read me?"
After coming to terms with the fact that Dani was killed in the fire, Spider-Man hung his head in guilt and sadness, before jumping, in fear, after feeling someone poke his shoulder.
"Miss me?" asked Dani.
