Vega woke up quite early the next morning, and after taking a shower and changing into her school uniform, she headed down to the empty common room with the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare leaflet to see just what Hermione had made out of the house-elves issue at Hogwarts.
What Hermione had written in there wasn't quite wrong, but Vega felt like it was – currently – a bit too ambitious, especially considering the fact that they hadn't discussed anything with house-elves.
That was the problem that Vega had seen every single time– no one wanted to ask and understand the house-elves about issues that concerned them. That is why it always went absolutely nowhere.
"Vega?"
It was Harry who was making his way down the boys' tower, and Vega was slightly disappointed as she had expected Fred to come downstairs. She waved in greeting, watching him walk over to her.
"Good morning, you're up early," Vega said, eying his face to see if he had even slept last night – his eyes were a bit vague regarding that but he definitely looked frustrated. "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, just need to write a letter," Harry muttered as he picked a piece of parchment from the table where he had been doing homework just last night. "Where's my Quill?"
"You took it along with yourself last night," Vega replied as she quickly pulled out one from her schoolbag and held it out to him. "Here – the letter's for Sirius, isn't it?"
Harry nodded and Vega stood up from the armchair, walking lightly over to glance down at what he was planning on writing to Sirius. She could understand why he was so worried about Sirius' actions.
Dear Sirius,
I reckon I just imagined my scar hurting; I was half asleep when I wrote to you last time. There's no point coming back, everything's fine here. Don't worry about me, my head feels completely normal. I asked Vega about her own scar but she said that she hadn't felt anything like I have with it.
Harry
"Do you think he'll be convinced with that?" Vega asked, raising her eyebrows at the letter and the lies Harry had so casually scribbled out. "Because I would definitely not be,"
"He has to be, he can't come here, Vega," Harry said and turned to walk out of the common room, and Vega hurried to follow behind him. "I shouldn't have written that letter to him,"
"I would've expected Sirius to stay hidden, to be honest," Vega admitted as they climbed out of the portrait hole and walked down the silent castle corridor. "Not today, Peeves,"
For Peeves had seen the two of them making their way along the Fourth-Floor Corridor and the Poltergeist tried to overturn a large vase onto them – which Vega blocked with a flick of her wand to freeze the vase in the air with Immobulus, and then placed the vase back onto its pedestal again.
"I've never visited the Owlery at the West Tower before," Vega said as they made their way into the circular stone room, which was rather cold and drafty due to lack of glass in the windows.
"Hedwig comes here when she is annoyed," Harry replied, watching Vega light the furnace in the middle of the tower to give warmth to the owls around the Owlery.
"Clever girl, usually there are only school owls here," Vega said, a bit apprehensive at how much a mess had been created in the tower. "Oh, dear... I wonder when Filch last visited this place?"
