**Warning** talk of death and dying from here on out

Danny's POV

Once I pulled myself together I got up and headed to the kitchen. Josh had said she had been sleeping for hours so I assumed she'd wake up soon and I wanted to have food ready when she did. I looked in the fridge and in the pantry looking for something I could make. I found some frozen wontons in the freezer, and decided on wonton soup. I found broth and heated it in a pot and added the wontons. I heard her bedroom door open and the soft sound of her feet padding across the floor as she made her way into the living room. Her eyes were swollen from crying and she looked utterly exhausted.

"What smells so good?" she asked, walking up behind me and wrapping her arms around my middle. Laying her cheek against my back.

"I made you wonton soup" I said as I reached, grabbing a bowl from the cabinet. I spooned some into it and set it on the counter to cool a little. "How are you?" I turned and wrapped my arms around her. She shrugged before answering,

"Like I just got told I'm dying" She said flatly, leaning and placing her head on my chest. "Other than that fine I guess."

"Here, lets go sit on the couch" I gave her the bowl I made for her and got some for myself. We both went over to the couch and I turned on her favorite tv show. She rested her back against the armrest and her legs draped over my lap. We watch the tv in silence for a long time. "Where is Lucas?"

"Oh, he got accepted into the study abroad program. So he's not here for the rest of the semester," Her face fell, "He left before he knew I was sick."

"So he knows now?" I asked

"He does, he wanted to come home but I told him not to, he's been looking forward to this for too long" she paused, "I still haven't told Thorne, I'm trying to work up the nerve" She looked at the bowl and pushed around the last remaining wonton. "I'm guessing Josh told you about the appointment?" She asked, her eyes looking to mine,

"He filled me in, I'm so sorry Rose." I said rubbing her leg,

"No need for you to apologize, it's not your fault." She said looking away

"I know that, I guess I mean I'm sorry you're going through it." I amended my previous statement

"I'm sorry you are stuck with someone who is dying" She said looking back to me,

"Would you stop saying that? What about the chemo?" I said, my voice coming off my aggressive than I intended

"I don't know if I want to do that" She shrugged, standing to go to the kitchen

"Here let me," I tried to take the bowls,

"No. I can still take care of myself for now." she said sternly. I sunk back into the couch,

"Why would you not do chemo?"

"I don't know if I want to go through that for it to maybe work" she said as she rinsed out the bowls,

"If it even gives you a chance you need to take it Rose," I said as I stood and walked towards her

"Danny you weren't there, you didn't hear the list of side effects, or how intensive it is" She said as she turned off the sink and faced me,

"The side effects are nothing compared to the alternative, and I know you can handle it" I said,

"Danny. Do you not understand that I'm dying either way. One way sucks, and the other way sucks more and MIGHT give me more time." She snapped at me,
