The next morning Athena was the talk of Hogwarts, she was in everyone's thoughts even Beth came up to her asking what happened. There was a mix of reactions from people, some smiling at her and saying they wanted to do it for ages or people whispering about her as she walked past.
She got ready for her detention with slughorn and made her way to the great hall
"ATHENA" her name was being yelled, she turned to see regulus running up too her, before she could say a word Regulus began "look I'm really sorry I didn't say anything about you in a horrible way, I didn't think Lucius would even say anything like that" he says very fast "you are my best friend in the whole wide world so please don't be mad at me"
"Regulus I-" she tried to interrupt before he speaks again
"I'm not finished, I'm sorry I haven't been speaking to you enough I thought you wanted space I don't know why I was being silly" he breathes out "so will you forgive me?" He looks at her with sorrow in his eyes
Athena couldn't do anything but laugh,he looks at the girl confused "what? Why are you laughing? Are you crying?" He looks at her eyes
She shook her head "no you idiot" she goes in closer and gives him a hug. He lets out a sigh of relief "it's fine reg" she looks at him
He shakes his head "ok we cool?"
"We're cool"
He puts out his hand as Athena shakes it
"I have a detention so I'll see you later" she starts walking off. Evan rosier walks up to Regulus "what was that?" He asks
"I was apologising to her, why what's your problem?"
Evan scoffs "she doesn't hang around people like us Regulus, she's the 'hero' type she hangs around with James potter and Remus, you really think she would call people like you her bestfriend?"
Regulus laughs "she's been my bestfriend for ages, and she can call my brother her friend why not me"
"You know what I mean" he makes sure no one is listening "tell me if it came down to saving others or helping someone who is going to be a death eater who do you think she'll pick"
Regulus glares at him "clearly you don't know Athena, you would like her Evan" he picks up his back "maybe if you didn't have your head so far up your ass maybe you guys would get along" he walks away leaving Evan.
Athena entered slughorns classroom as he looks at her with a gleaming smile on his face "ah Athena your here good" he starts gesturing her too sit opposite him. She sat down "I'm sorry professor for starting that fight last night it's just"
He raises his hand"No need to apologise my dear" slughorns says
"There isn't ?"
He chuckles "No ofcorse not, as soon as Dumbledore told me what Lucius said to you I was furious, I said to Dumbledore you had every right but of corse you cannot tell Lucius that" Slughorn gets out two teacups and starts filling them with tea "He won't be bothering you any time soon Athena" he passes her a teacup "so how's Meg your family doing?" He goes on
"Oh their good Megs working with the minestry and Jo's an auror with madeye moody" Athena replies
Slughorn smiles "I'll always remember Meg she was brilliant at potions always on top of the class, you seem very good at potions as well bet you got it from your mother" he laughs "what about dad when was the last time you heard from him" he looks up
"I think about Christmas he sends us letters every now and then not too often"
He nods "brave man your father brave man"
Athena stayed for another hour and seem to be getting along with Slughorn. When she left the detention she went back into the common room to sit with Pandora
"How was it" she asks
Athena sat down smiling
Pandora raises her eyebrow "bloody hell I've never seen a person smile after a detention"
"it was fine he's a good man slughorn, seems very fond of my family" she smiles
Pandora rolls her eyes "I think everyone loves your family" she laughs "only idiots don't" she puts her eyes back on her book.
The next morning Athena looked outside and the sun was shining for the first time in weeks, she walked downstairs and saw Richard holding a letter with Athena's name on it, he looks about half asleep his hair in a mess and one eye open "here" he shoves the letter in Athena's hand "from Professor Keys"
"Professor keys" she looks at the letter "what would He want?"
He groans "don't ask me" he slowly walks away stumbling "I'm going back to bed, wake me up at noon" he makes his way down the stairs.
She sat on the sofa as the common room was empty and opened the letter
Dear Athena,
I am writing to you to ask about some private lessons? You seem about the only one interested in the learning of defensive spells and I would be honoured to help you. Dumbledore has told me about the 'order of the Phoenix' and I have already offered my services to this. So I wanted to ask, if you would like please come to my class room tomorrow at lunch. I hope to see you.

Athena headed down to the great hall to reveal James with his head in his palm, Athena walked over and sat down
"You alright potter?" She asks
He looks up at her and his face brightens "yeah I'm alright McKinnon, just trying to figure out this stupid homework due for 5th period" he looks back down at the sheet of paper
Athena looked down and saw it was for professor keys "oh I think i can help you" she turned the sheet of paper towards her and grabbed James's pencil to match up all of the answers to the questions "here you go" she gave him back the paper
James looks at her astonished "has anyone told you how brilliant you are" he puts the paper back in the bag "so how was the detention with slughorn" he looks back up at her
She shrugged "it was alright, slughorns a nice man seems like he doesn't like Lucius too much"
"Who does?" James laughs "he looks like a Barbie doll"
Athena started to laugh "yeah he does" she smiled
He smiles back at her "so how's have you spoken to regulus at all?"
She nods "yeah actually he apologised earlier bless him, I think he's just stuck in the wrong crowed"
James looks over at the slytherin table and back at her "yeah snivellus probably brought him into him" he shoots snape a nasty look
"Why do you hate Severus so much?"
James's face got stern "he called you a blood traitor and says slurs"
She squinted at him "you hated him before that lies James Potter"
James winks "oo by my full name eh?"
"James!" She demands
"He just bothers me, always in the way everywhere I look he's there smirking about something wiping his greasy hair everywhere" he starts eating "seriously he needs a wash and a good chop" he puts more on his plate
"You sure he didn't say anything to you ?" She asked
He shakes his head "him say something to me?" He laughs "he wishes he could insult me, there is nothing to insult I've got a beautiful face and a amazing personality oh and I can play bohemian rhapsody on the piano" he points his finger at her
Athena grins "yeah I could never diss your piano skills James"
"Seriously I can, Mooney taught me"
"Why do you call Remus Mooney again?"
James goes pale "just a nickname" he starts putting his dinner away "it's just a silly nickname really, but are you going to the party in the summer" he changes the subject
"What party?" Athena asks
James's eyes open "you haven't heard?, Amos diggory is holding it, biggest talk of the year, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. Diggory always flirted with you aswell"
"I guess I wasn't invited then?" Athena nods
James comes closer to her "guess you'll have to come as my plus one then" he smiles
Athena shakes her head "no I don't want to ruin it for you, what if you find a girl you actually want to take" she refuses
James laughs "who other would I want to take then you"
Athena started to blush "are you sure, what if I don't know anyone?"
"Marlene's going, she got invited by Dorcas Meadows"
Athena's jaw drops "Dorcas Meadows is going with my sister?"
James nods "yeah your as shocked as I am"
"She hated her like her whole Hogwarts life, they hated eachover" Athena says in disbelief "they had a full of fight in 2nd year"
"Mhm" James let's out
"I mean go Marlene but wow" Athena didn't know how to feel, she just hoped Marlene was happy "that's mental" she puts her focus back into James "are you still sure about this James?"
"Nonsense Athena you and me are going together I'll pick you up, we've got about 3 weeks left of school so please don't ask me every time you see me if I still want you go with you, it's you and me okay" he states "anyways it's better then showing up alone, especially with the talk of the school" he laughs
Athena puts her head into her palm "you've heard rumours too"
James smiles "oh yeah, but my favourite one yet is that a evil spirit took over you making you topple on top of Lucius" he giggles "oh and that you tried to kill him"
"Oh god" Athena laughs
"You wouldn't imagine how many people came up to me today since I was the one holding you back, felt like a celebrity"
Athena looked at James "I am so sorry for that by the way"
James smiles "oh don't apologise it was the highlight of my night, holding a pretty girl and seeing a slytherin on the floor crying"
Athena laughs "was he really crying?"
James roars "yeah he looked like a toddler"
