~~Yeonjun's POV—

I heard the door being pushed. I immediately looked at who got inside.
It must be my besto friendo !

«Hey Bestie !!» we hugged each other. «Waw, I feel like it's been ages since I last saw you ! How ya doin ?»

We were currently sitting in the cafeteria were me and the other members usually eat. I already ordered an americano for me, and a huge cup of coffee for Wooyoung.

« Ah, y'know, : training, singing, rapping, running away from sasaeng, trying to educate my little babies (*aka the other members*), the usual shit. And you ? Still drinking enormous quantities of coffee ? »
Wooyoung tsked. « You know me too well. Thanks for the drink by the way. » He sipped a bit of his coffee. « Just the way I like it. Anyways, I've been doing pretty good, and our last comeback made ATINYs go crazy, sooo ,,, » He smirked. « If you saw it, you can relate of course. »
I snickered.

« I saw it, clearly, what did you expect from me babe ? I never missed one of your mvs. » He slapped my shoulder. « You'll make me blush, sweetie. Stop that, the people will get the wrong idea. » I widened my eyes, startled. « You're tellin' me that even though you said sweetie ?! » « Who's the one who said babe ?! » He replied.

We paused and looked at each other in the eyes.

We both exploded in laughter.
I punched my hand on the table. « You should've seen ya face ! You looked so lost ! » I snorted.
« Oh my god ! But you, you looked so shocked ! » He managed to say between cackles.

We calmed down a little bit.
« Oh lord, I missed that. Meeting up with my bestie, and laughing. Forget everything else. » He smiled widely. «Me too. We should do that more often, I'll ask my manager. » I offered, and returned his smile.

« Yea, before I forget, I wanted to talk about something. » He asked. « Yes ? What's the deal ? »

Meanwhile ...

~~ no one's POV—

« WHAT?! »
« Shut up, Kai, you're too loud ! » whispered-yelled Taehyun. « I kindly remind you that we're in the middle of the cafeteria. Other people are there too ! » He frowned at the maknae.
« Oh, sorry. But don't you find weird that he said that ? I would've never thought he liked you. » He speculated. « Yes, I know. His " I like you too " sounded fake. But why would he lie anyways ? He won't get anything out of it. »

« Strange. If you want to, I can investigate, and find out if he really—»
« Hyuka. Stop that. He's your friend, and my - huhum - boyfriend. We should trust him. If he lies, then I'll commit murder and bury his body and I'll leave to Japan. »
Kai didn't speak a single word and only looked at his friend.
« What ? If you're just going to stare at me then instead order something to eat. » « Waiter ! I want to order. » He said, still astonished from the previous statements. The waiter came to their table. « I would like some noodles with chicken and vegetables. And you ... ?» « The same. Thank you. » The waiter took the menus and left to the counter. We already had commanded the drinks ; I chose sparkling water while Kai took a sprite.

I pick my cup and proceeded to drink when Kai said : « Uhm, to return to the previous topic, what did he do after, huhum, 'confessing' ? »
« Nothing. He just said bye and left. »
« And... that's it ? »

« Yes. »

Kai caught the sudden stiffness in Teahyun's position and knew immediately he was lying. Taehyun may be very good at lying, but some signs never escape Kai's eyes. He's well-know for guessing what the people around him are feeling, especially his long-term friends and close parents. He knows immediately how to react.
Now, it wasn't hard to guess what they did next. They kissed perhaps ? That should explain why Taehyun is so stiff. Probably. But HueningKai didn't want to make his friend uncomfortable, so he didn't bother him any further.

« Anyways. Eventually he'll tell me if he's not sincere. I know he feels very uncomfortable when he lies for too long. » Taehyun tried to divert Kai's attention.
« Fact. He always get caught after 2 or 3 days. » He lightly smiled. Taehyun suddenly remembered of something really funny.
« Remember that day when he broke some stuff that belonged to the staff ? » Kai smirked. « Of course. He kept denying, but eventually, after 3 hours he admitted that he broke that high-quality camera. » They both bursted into laughters, thinking about how he got scolded by the staff members.

« I just thought about something. How did it went with Yeonjun Hyung ? Did you guys manage to distract him ? » Kai let out a sigh. « Well, it was quite hard, but we finally managed to find a good Disney film and he stopped asking why we were acting suspiciously after 20 minutes. » Taehyun showed a smile of sympathy.  « Hyung sure acts like a child from time to time. »

~~Wooyoung's POV—

« How's it going with your beloved ? »
He grunted. « Don't talk to me about it ... » he muttered. I thought they were doing fine !?
« How come ? Last time you told me "Dont worry, I'll steal his heart soon." » I tried my best imitating him, with his look filled with determination and proudness, which made Yeonjun laugh.

« I did not say it like that. Regardless of that, I was sure of myself only because I didn't know the truth. » That got me confused since I didn't know all the details. « What are you talking about ? » Yeonjun suddenly looked cold.

« He already likes another guy. Our maknae. » I rolled my eyes. « And so ? Why care about that ? Show him your charms and he'll forget about that little kid. » Yeonjun lift his face. « My charms ?! » « Yes, your charms, duh. 🧑🏼‍🦲🧍🏻» He widened his eyes. « Why didn't I think of that ! »
I slapped my forehead. « Are you seriously dumb or...? » Yeonjun narrowed his eyes. « That makes me think... one day I kissed him on the neck. » I smirked. « Oooh, I see... » I could see his cheeks getting slightly red. « N-nothing like that... it was a mere prank. But still, he got quite flustered. And he also ran away like a teenager school girl who just said hi to her crush. »

He clapped his hands. « Yah, are you stupid ? That's a clear sign your have an effect on him ! Don't waist more time ! Go get ya man ! »
I feel like this discussion brought him back to life. Now that's the Yeonjun I know. He never has remorse. He never looks back.
That's what I call confidence.

« I feel so determined right now. Thanks ! » He showed me his most beautiful smile. « I told you, you always make that face when you're getting ahead of yourself. »
« That's not true ! »
