Yumetsuki and Kakashi had shared that night together, and when the young girl had left his apartment, he had told her to be safe. It seemed like he was doing alright but that was the last that she got to see of him properly over the course of the next few months. The village had dwindled its Ninjas yet it needed them more than ever within fights happening all over the country and beyond.
Although she had felt like she would be placed into Medical Camps or on the battlefield with many enemies due to her long-range and wide-range Kekkei Genkai, Yumetsuki was given much more discreet and covert operations – she had joined the ANBU in order to aid them in assassinations.
Both her Ice and Fire Style Kekkei Genkai were much appreciated within the organisation. Yumetsuki had been given two different personas to confuse the enemy in case there was such a need.
Choosing the names were entirely up to Yumetsuki, who had given her Ice Style the name that reminded her of Obito – Yukito. And to match her name, she wore a white mask that resembled a rabbit with its silver design upon the porcelain surface.
The name 'Miyabi' was given to the red fox mask that Yumetsuki was given to mark her movements as a Fire-based Ninja. It was now that these dual personalities took hold of the girl – as tightly as the newly etched red spiral tattoo on her left arm.
Such was the nature of her new job that the young girl found herself neglecting her personal life and she strayed away from her friends. She could not find anything to speak to them about.
Ever since Grandma Chi had passed away, Yumetsuki had moved out of the orphanage and now lived in the same apartment complex as Kakashi. In fact, she stayed in the apartment right next to his yet... as fate was, the two of them never ran into each other even when living side by side.
It was in the middle of the night as the white-haired girl returned back to her village from another week-long expedition as Yukito. Yumetsuki rubbed her forehead.
The mission had been a long, treacherous one, and the partners that Yumetsuki had gotten were not her usual. One of her own partners, a young man with tiger mask, had hit on her the entire time.
"I cannot do another mission with him," Yumetsuki mumbled as she climbed the stairs of the apartment to the first floor, wanting to get some rest quickly.
As expected, the apartment complex was silent and everyone appeared to be asleep. It was still dark outside but Yumetsuki knew that the sun would be rising soon. She needed to get some sleep before she headed out to do anything else. She had not visited the hospital in such a long while.
Suddenly, the silence of the early morning hours was broken and Yumetsuki turned her head to see that she was walking past the window that opened to Kakashi's kitchen.
There in the dark, Yumetsuki's eyes adjusted to find Kakashi himself, breathing heavily as if he was hyperventilating and scrubbing at his hand in the kitchen sink. The sound of water was like ice.
Yumetsuki had a hard time tearing her eyes away from this sight, and she rubbed her chest as she continued her way down to her apartment. Yet as she fell onto her bed, no sleep came to her.
Slowly, the sky outside began to light up and the singing of birds reached Yumetsuki's ears. She kept her weary eyes closed, pushing herself deeper into her covers to salvage some rest. But it appeared that sleep was cross with her and left her to toss and turn in her bed for hours.
It was stupid to even try any further and Yumetsuki left her bed and her apartment to go work.
Konoha Hospital was bustling as always, filled almost to the brim with people who needed help. Yumetsuki pulled on her white medical coat and got right down to business, dealing with the casualty injuries as she was rather experienced with them.
