Chapter 41: The Galaxy and Her Road Foward

Day 1 of the annual cultural festival.

"Hold still, Sana." Said San as he applied makeup onto Sana's face. 

"Sorry- it's hard to hold still like this-" Replied Sana, sitting in a chair while San did her makeup. 

"Kronii was right- makeup really is a pain- especially if someone else is doing it for you-" Thought Sana as she tried to sit still. 

"I know that it might be difficult to stay still for a prolonged period but we're almost finished so just bare me." Replied San while he reached for a brush. 

"Is all of this really necessary?" Asked Sana. 

"Of course it is. If you're going to play Prince Charming then you're going to at least look the part. Have to make it look professional, y'know." Replied San as he applied foundation onto Sana's face. 

"I understand what you mean but don't you feel like this is a little excessive?-" Said Sana. 

"Excessive? That's not a word in my vocabulary!" Replied San in a playful tone. 

"Eh?!" Said Sana. 

"Yep! You heard me! Just live life to the fullest! There's no need to about such trivial matters, y'know!" Said San in a cheerful tone. 

"Well- that's certainly a way to think about things-" Replied Sana. 

"It's the fun way to live life if that's what you're trying to say." Said San. 

"Anyways, we're done! Come take a look!" Added San as he gave Sana a little mirror. 

"It looks great! Thank you so much!" Replied Sana as she admired her reflection. 

"Don't sweat it! Also, of course, you look great. I did your makeup after all." Said San, patting himself on the back. 

"I never thought that you would be a makeup person-" Said Sana. 

"I'm a man of many talents. This is just one of several." Replied San. 

"You did an absolutely awesome job but don't you think that you should be a little more modest?-" Said Sana. 

"Nope! Being modest is also not in my dictionary. There's no time to be modest when you're having a blast!" Replied San. 

"What a troublesome kid-" Thought Sana. 

"You're probably thinking something along the lines of "what a troublesome kid" right now, aren't you?" Asked San. 

"How did he know-" Thought Sana, slightly amazed and slightly afraid at the same time.

"He really did an amazing job though- I look so good." Thought Sana as she looked at herself in the mirror once more.

"Alright Sana, compose yourself before you pull a Kronii and make out with your reflection..." Thought Sana as she recalled the strange noises coming from the bathroom.

"Achoo!" Said Kronii as she sneezed. 

"What's wrong, Kronii?" Asked Mumei as the two walked through the halls together.

"Nothing. I think somebody is talking about me, though." Replied Kronii.

"I see that you're still great at the whole makeup thing." Said Faun as he watched Fauna applying makeup. 

"I've been practicing quite a lot so I would be ashamed of myself if I wasn't at least halfway decent at it." Replied Fauna as she spots Faun in her mirror's reflection.

"Anyways, what're you doing here?" Asked Fauna as she continued doing her makeup. 

"Just wanted to drop by and say hello." Replied Faun. 

"Huh? Why?" Asked Fauna. 

"Look, Fauna. I came to say sorry." Replied Faun. 

"Sorry for what?" Asked Fauna. 

"For everything. I'm sorry for all the trouble that I've caused up until now. I know that it was pretty annoying trying to deal with me and all of my shenanigans. I've been trying to apologize for that incident back in middle school but I realized that I've done nothing but drive a bigger wedge between us. I don't expect you to forgive me but I still wanted to get it off my chest." Replied Faun in a sincere tone that was completely out of character. 

"Thank you, Faun. I appreciate it. I want to say that I'll forgive you but something inside of me is preventing me from forgetting what you've done." Said Fauna. 

"Yeah, I completely understand. It was the response that I was anticipating anyways." Replied Faun. 

"Anyways, I'll get going. See you around. Also, can you apologize to that friend of yours with the blue-haired girl for me?" Added Faun. 

"Yeah, sure. I'll let her know." Said Fauna. 

"Thank you." Said Faun. 

"Anyway, I'll stop bothering you." Added Faun as started walking in the other direction.

"Wait a second." Said Fauna.

"What is it?" Asked Faun as he stopped walking. 

"It might not be anytime soon but hopefully one day we can sit down and settle our differences once and for all. Maybe even become friends again." Said Fauna. 

"Yeah- that'll be lovely." Replied Faun as he continued walking towards the exit in the opposite direction.

"Faufau!" Exclaimed Sana as she ran down the hallway and towards Fauna. 

"Slow down- you're going to ruin your costume-" Replied Fauna. 

"Aw man-" Said Sana in a bummed-out tone. 

"Come on, Sana. It would be disrespectful to ruin the costumes that the class worked so hard in making." Replied Fauna. 

"Yeah, I understand-" Said Sana. 

"Anyways, how do I look?" Asked Fauna in her Snow White costume. 

"You look amazing like always!" Replied Sana, excitedly as she notices how good the costume looks on her. 

"Aw thank you~ You look great too~" Said Fauna. 

"Alright class D, you're up!" Exclaimed a teacher as the crowd finished giving their standing ovations. 

"Go make me proud out there!" Said the professor in a cheery tone. 

"Yes sir!" Replied Sana, Fauna, and the rest of the class.
