Chapter 49: The Owl and Her Teasing Ways

Day 2 of the annual cultural festival.

"Of course it's true!" Exclaimed Gura to prevent Kronii from screwing up.

"..." Responded Mumei as she stood there in silence.

"G-Gura... s-shut up..." Replied Kronii as she grew increasingly flustered.

"Whatever. Anyways Calli, we have a score to settle." Said Gura as she sat down on the couch and handed Calli a controller.

"Bring it on, you little gremlin." Replied Calli as she took the controller out of her hand.

"Who are you calling a gremlin?!" Asked Gura in an annoyed tone.

"Who do you think? I don't see anyone else in this room." Replied Calli.

"What are you talking about? Didn't you hear Mumei and Kronii?" Asked Gura.

"Who?" Replied Calli.

"Those two love birds over there-" Said Gura as she turned around but to her surprise, she saw no one.

"No clue what you're talking about." Replied Calli as she overtook Gura in Mario Cart.

"Better pay start paying attention before I win." Added Calli as she taunted Gura.

"Thank god I was able to resist the urge to throw somebody..." Said Kronii as she walked down the hall alongside Mumei.

"Bad Kronii. I can't believe you decided not to invite me." Replied Mumei.

"Sorry, she was getting on my nerv- wait a sec... Invite you to what?!" Asked Kronii in a concerned tone.

"I'm sure you already know what I meant." Replied Mumei.

"N-no- I don't-" Said Kronii.

"Anyways, that's enough about me~ Let's talk about you!" Replied Mumei.

"Hmmm... I do like talking about myself and just how perfect I am..." Said Kronii.

"That's kinda sad..." Replied Mumei.

"Well, I don't think I asked for your opinion." Said Kronii as she looked away.

"I know you didn't but I felt like you needed to hear it." Replied Mumei as she looked away while pouting.

"Well, maybe I didn't need to hear your opinion." Said Kronii in an exaggerated tone.

"Well, maybe you did!" Replied Mumei as she looked back at Kronii.

"Maybe you should shut up!" Exclaimed Kronii as she looked back at Mumei.

"Make me!" Replied Mumei in a bratty tone that resembled an adolescent child.

"Maybe I will." Said Kronii, closing the distance between the two as she walked toward Mumei.

"Maybe you should stop talking so much and actually do something!" Replied Mumei as she slowly backed up after Kronii shortened the distance between them.

"Hmmm... well maybe I should do something you'll never forget..." Said Kronii as she walked ever so slightly closer toward Mumei.

"L-like- what?-" Asked Mumei, growing timider as she bumped into the wall behind her while Kronii approached her.

"Hmmm, let me think..." Replied Kronii.

"Maybe a kiss from someone as perfect as I would finally shut you up~" Added Kronii as she stopped in her tracks and slammed her left hand on the wall while looking straight into Mumei's eyes.
