ANNABETH CHASE HAD SEEN SOME WEIRD THINGS WITHIN HER DEMIGOD LIFE, but never once had she ever seen it rain cars before.
As the roof of the cavern she was stuck within collapsed, the sunlight from above blinded her. As her hands flew up to cover her eyes, she caught sight of the briefest glimpse of the Argo II hovering above the hole that it had created. It must have been the ballistate that it had that blasted the hole straight through the ground. Chucks of asphalt as big as garage doors tumbled down from above, along with six or seven Italian cars falling down with it.
She was terrified for a moment that one of the many cars that fell, would possibly crush the Athena Parthenos that she risked her life on multiple occasions to get, but thank the gods that the statue's glowing aura acted like a force field and the car that she was so terrified of crushing it, bounced off. Though, unfortunately, it flew straight towards Annabeth.
She jumped to the side, just barely missing getting crushed as she twisted her already bad foot. A wave of intense agony almost made her pass out as it washed over her, but she flipped on her back just in time to see a bright red Flat 500 slam into Arachne's silk trap. She watched as it punched through the cavern floor and disappeared with the Chinese Spidercuffs.
