Chapter Nine

Ginger POV

So, last time you heard from me, I was just leaving the hospital. I'm back now, and Liyah and the girls were supposed to have a girls night out with me. Let's see how this goes.

I walk up to the door of Janet's apartment ad knocked on the door.

She opened the door, all smiles. "Ginger! Great to see you love!"

I hugged her and walked inside, "You too, where's August?"

"Oh, he's out with the guys, so we have the whole apartment to ourselves!"

Aaliyah walked out the bathroom a couple minutes later.

 I drop my bag on the floor. "You ain't gonna tell me hello?"

She laughed and hugged me, "Hello."

I shook my head. "Great, now let's get this party started!"

So, it was Rihanna, Nicki, Aaliyah, Janet, Teyana, then me. I don't think I'm missing anyone. I sort of sat back and lowkey while we watched movies and talked about gobs of nothingness.

Teyana put on a smirk. "Ginger, you got a boyfriend?"

All the girls were laughing.

"Well, I had a boyfriend."

"Had?" Aaliyah sat her drink down and sat next to me.

"Tell me the story of this, 'had'." Rihanna sipped her water.

"Well, he's in a grade above me, then told me that he loved me-"

Nicki cut me off. "Don't believe the lies!"

"I didn't, calm yourself."

Janet snapped her fingers in a z-formation.

I sighed. "Anyway, he was at the skating rink and I caught him kissing on some other girl."

Everyone gasped.

"Yep, so I burned his varsity jacket and I felt better." I put on a smile.

"You go girl!" Rihanna high-fived me.

Everyone was laughing, and then the phone rang.

"I'll get it!" Janet hopped over my sleeping bag and went to the phone.

Janet POV

I caught my breath and answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Janet, it's me!" Some guy sounded frantic.

I looked at the phone. "Elgin, is that you?"

"Is that my baby?" Teyana shot up.

 I covered the phone."Girl hush!" I yelled across the room.

I resumed the call. "Anyway, what's going on?"

"There's been an accident." He said.

"A what?" I put the phone on speaker.

"Yeah, a car accident! The ambulance just took August away-"

"August?" Everyone yelled.

"I don't know! The police aren't telling me anything!"

"Don't stress, brother. We'll be there in a sec!" Aaliyah spoke into the phone.

I hung up the phone.

Ginger sat next to me and hugged me. "Jan, you good?"

I couldn't think. The last think me and August ever did was fight, and now I could be losing him.

I don't want to lose him.
