As promised, after they were done unpacking Steve and Natasha made their way outside to play a game of chess.
Steve still didn't understand what the blonde found so exciting about the game but none the less he didn't questioned it.
"Alright, now you have to tell how you got so good at this game." Steve exclaimed after he lost five rounds
Natasha smiled "I used to volunteer at this nursing home, while I was there I met Fred. He was a retired C.I.A. agent. Anyway, he used to tell me that you can learn how smart a person is by how they play chess."
"So I must be pretty stupid." Steve said with a chuckle
Natasha chuckled "just a little bit." she replied as she held her thumb and index finger close together
Steve chuckled as he looked at the clock on the wall of the kitchen through the porch window "it's getting late, we should go get some dinner."
Natasha followed his line of vision and nodded in agreement "let me get dressed." she said as she stood up from her chair and walked inside the house
----
As the sound of sandals clicking on the wooden porch came to Steve's ears he looked up to see the blonde and his heart beat quickened. The red dress that she wore was flowy but yet still hugged her curves accentuating her hips, the low v-neck left little to the imagination and left Steve with anything but holy thoughts.
Noticing the way Steve was looking at her made Natasha blush and turn a slight shade of red that she hopped he wouldn't notice.
As Steve realized he was starting for far to long he cleared his throat and stood up from the porch swing that he was sitting on.
"Ready to go?" he asked and Natasha nodded. "It's not to far from here so I figured we'd walk." he suggested and Natasha nodded in agreement
"Sounds good." she said with a smile
Steve lent out his hand to the blonde who looked at him questionably. Steve huffed "it's just a hand." he said and Natasha smiled as she slid her hand into his.
----
"Here we are." Steve announced as they walked up to a diner with a design similar to that of a hut
Natasha looked at the diner curiously before her and Steve walked inside.
Upon entering they were greeted by a chubbier man with shoulder length black hair and a huge smile on his face.
"Steve'o how've you been?" the man asked as Natasha and Steve walked up to the counter
Steve smiled at the man "good, good." he replied
"Ah, and who's this beauty you brought with you?" he asked as he looked over at Natasha who gave the man a friendly smile
Steve turned to Natasha and smiled before he looked back at his friend "Kai, this is my wife Natasha. Natasha, this is my long time friend Kai." he introduced
"Wife?" Kai asked in shock "now who in their right mind would marry you?" he joked causing Natasha to chuckle
"Apparently me." Natasha replied
Kai chuckled while Steve glared at his friend "what can I get you?" he asked as he took out his note pad
Steve and Natasha placed their orders before they walked over to a small booth with their food in tow.
"He seems nice." Natasha commented as she stirred her salad
Steve smiled "yeah, he is. Tony and I used to come here every summer while Howard worked." he explained
