Chapter 42 | A Luminous Confession

"Trishamae!" nanghihinang sigaw ni Sky nang siya ay mapagod kakahanap sa matalik na kaibigan. Kanina niya pa ito hinahabol at hinahanap ngunit palagi naman itong nakakatakas. Wala rin siyang ideya kung bakit naghahabulan silang dalawa ni Trisha.

"Why did I become friends with her again?" he asked himself as he roamed his eyes around to see any traces of Trisha, but he found nothing. "I swear I sensed her magic in this area."

They were just roaming around earlier, monitoring and exploring the place... but then, when he mentioned that her father invited him to have a dinner in their house after the upcoming war. Napansin na lang ni Sky na parang nataranta ang dalaga sa sinabi niya, pagkatapos ay bigla na lamang itong tumakbo palayo sa kaniya. Siyempre hinabol niya ito sa akalang nakikipaglaro lang sa kaniya ang kaibigan.

Napabuntong hininga na lamang siya at bumagsak ang magkabilang balikat. He had to search from the air earlier just to find his beloved friend but instead of her, he saw two kids climbing the tallest and biggest tree that he had ever seen, the one where he and his friends are currently camping.

"Luna, can you smell Trisha's scent?" he asked his pet that immediately answered him with a look that says, 'I can but I won't tell you'. "I'm jealous. Why do you like her more than your owner when I am the one who feeds you?!"

Luna just answered him with a growl before getting back to sleep. So, with a sulking face, he continued to search Trisha through the dark woods. Umaasa na lamang siyang magutom ang dalaga para naman magpakita na ito sa kaniya.

"Mae!" tawag niyang muli. "I have something to show you!" Tumigil siya sa isang malaking puno at isinandal ang isang kamay doon saka nagpatuloy sa paghahanap, "Something amazing."

Dumako ang kaniyang mga mata sa tanawin na nasa ibaba lamang ng munting burol kung saan siya nakatayo ngayon. He reached the end of the forest yesterday while finding some woods for the campfire. And then he found this place, an open area wherein there's nothing but green grass and a tree on the center of it. He already checked the area to confirm if it is a safe place for them to hangout.

Aabot hanggang tuhod ang damo habang ang punong nasa gitna ng lugar na ito ay wala ng tumutubong dahon, senyales na patay na ito ngunit sa hindi malamang kadahilanan ay masigla at malusog pa ang katawan nito.

He planned to take Trisha and his friends in here tonight but sadly, his friends' has some businesses that he doesn't want to disturb. "I'm sure the others are having fun right now."

As he enjoyed the silence, series of winds brushed through the grass making it dance with joy and grace. And from the grass, it travelled to him making him close his eyes when he felt its gentle touch. Marahan na pumapalibot sa kaniya ang hangin na tila ba'y niyayakap siya nito.

After feeling the wind's embrace, he finally opened his eyes to stare at the sight in front of him again. Hindi nakatakas sa kaniyang paningin ang mga munting alitaptap na nakalabas mula sa pinagtataguan nitong damo, kaunti lamang iyon ngunit ang kumikislap sa dakong ibaba ng kanilang katawan ay sapat para ito'y mapansin sa madilim na lugar na ito.

"Hmmm..."

Habang nakamasid pa rin sa tanawin ay hindi nakatakas sa pandinig ni Sky ang mahinang kaluskos na siyang ikinangiti niya. Without getting his eyes off the peaceful sight, he swiftly moved his right hand, creating a small force of wind that can cut through anything like what a blade can do. Mabilis iyon nagtungo sa isang malaking sanga ng puno kung saan nakasandal ang kaliwang kamay niya. After the small attack that he made, a crackling sound of a breaking branch together with a small shriek from a girl was heard.
