The parable Hadhrat Yunus alayhisalaam

When Hadhrat Yunus aleyhis salaam was put under test and trial by Almighty Allaah, and was swallowed by and trapped in the stomach of aa fish, he exclaimed to Almighty Allaah with immense patience and gratitude in these words:

((لا اله الا انت سبحانك اني كنت من الظالمين))

((O Almighty Allaah, there is no god but You. You are flawless. Undoubtedly, I am the wrongdoer.))

The verses of the Holy Qur'an are testimony to the fact that if Hadhrat Yunus aleyhis salaam had not prayed before Allaah Ta'aala with such respect and regard, he would have stayed trapped in the stomach of the fish till the Day of Qiyaamah.

Almighty Allaah states in the Holy Qur'an:

((فلولا انه كان من المسبحين للبث في بطنه الى يوم يبعثون))

((Had he not described the Purity of Almighty Allaah, he would have stayed in the stomach of the fish till the Day of Qiyaamah))

From the above we can also conclude that whatever exclamation will be made before Almighty Allaah with extreme respect and regard, it will be duly granted.

Even today, most Ahlullaah (people of Allaah) advise those in distress, the 'wird' (continuous repetition by tongue) of the above Qur'anic verse. To achieve relief from distress, this verse is a sovereign remedy.
