The Heart is a Strange Town

Only when one embarks on the difficult journey of rectifying one's heart does one realise how much work is involved.

Rectifying one's heart is not just an overnight excursion but a difficult lifelong journey.

A town can become a ghost town overnight because it is very easy for inhabitants to gather their belongings and leave.

However, it may take generations for a population to grow because moving out and abandoning something is much easier than moving in and settling down to form a community.

Likewise, ruining one's heart is easy because abandoning it to evils of this world takes no effort.

Moreover rectifying it involves tremendous hard work that can easily take a lifetime just like building a new community takes time and effort.
