The small bookstore bustled with people.

Wei Jing smiled reluctantly and waved his hands to signal his refusal. "It's ok, there's no need for it. Wei Min is my younger brother, it makes sense for me to take care of him. Truth to be told... we normally...Umm! Don't interact much."

"It's just something trivial. Take it." The teenager forcefully stuffed the items into the child's hands and glanced outside the store. "Did you come alone? It's not safe for a child after dark. I'll bring you home," he inquired enthusiastically.

"It's fine." Wei Jing's hands were suddenly filled with more items. Fortunately these items were not expensive, so he wouldn't feel much of an emotional burden. The child pressed his lips together and turned towards the teenager. "The chauffeur is waiting for me outside. These gifts...thank you. My family is waiting for my return at home, I'm going to leave first. Bye."

"Bye." The teenager waved his hands with a big and bright smile on his face, but something else was hidden underneath his smile. "Let's hang out together next time."

"En." The child nodded. The autumnal wind blew, bringing a burst of chilliness. The child walked toward the exit while hugging onto the items that the teenager gave him, but forgetting to take his own sketchbook.

Due to this incident, it was already dim when Wei Jing arrived at the Wei family's residence. The night was only slightly illuminated by the last beam of light and warmth radiated by the fiery sunset.

"I'm back." Upon arriving home, the child saw Wei Zhe's discontent face with his first glance. The teenager held a thick original edition book in his hand with his back straight, his good-looking face tense and a slight anger in his eyes.

"What did you promise me yesterday?" He asked while raising his brow.

Wei Jing looked up at the clock in the lobby. It was already slightly after 7pm. He suddenly felt guilty, and smiled at the teenager so as to appease him. "Big brother, why are you reading here, it's bad for your eyes." He attempted to change the subject.

"Why do you think?" Wei Zhe let out a cold laugh while tossing the thick book onto the tea table casually, resulting in a loud "Pia" noise. "That's the 2 hours you were talking about?"

Confess your wrongs frankly, or you end up rotting in prison.

Wei Jing blinked his eyes rapidly and walked to the teenager's side. He held onto the other person's hand and started to act cute. "There is a reason for it, big brother. I should've been back a long time ago, but because you took my sketchbook away yesterday, so I...couldn't hold myself back and went to buy another one~"

In order to validate the truthfulness of his words, Wei Jing took out the whole bucket of things that Lu Tianyou gifted him.

A pack of color pencils and colorful crayons, a cute rabbit eraser, and a sketchbook with a light blue and cartoony cover.

All in all, they were all things that children enjoyed, and they perfectly matched Wei Jing's current appearance and hobbies.

Although Wei Zhe knew that the child didn't tell him the whole story, he didn't want to be overly strict about it, or else...he really would become a mother hen. His expression eased up slightly, but he still had to educate when he had to educate, "Do you dare to break your promise again in the future if you promise your big brother?"

"Nonono." Wei Jing shook his head obediently.

"You are not allowed to eat tonight's sweet and sour ribs. I've asked the chef to cook some chicken soup, you must drink two bowls of it." Before the child could object, the teenager added calmly, "This is your punishment."
