It had just passed one in the morning and a young man with red slit feline-like eyes and three whisker marks on each of his cheeks was blankly staring at the LA cityscape. A cool breeze lifted his blood-red hair and brushed past him, forming goosebumps on his bare tanned skin as when he had left his room he hadn't put on a shirt. The only things he had on currently were orange boxers and a gold chain with a strange insignia in the shape of a swirl on it. In his right hand, a lit cigarette burned away slowly, bits of ash falling over the edge of the balcony only to be carried away in the wind.
Idly, he lifted his well-toned arm and took a pull from the smoke stick before looking up at the night sky and blowing the smoke out into the air. He nonchalantly swirled his left pointer finger, turning the smoke into the shape of a western dragon with its maw open before letting it fade into the air.
'I wonder what old scales would say about me using my power like this.' The young man wondered before shrugging mentally. 'Whatever, bastard is probably too caught up with doing flips and annoying the loli to even think about what I do anyways.'
He took one last drag from his cigarette before throwing the completely spent butt over the side of the building. Sighing in exhaustion, he pushed himself off the railing and moved to sit down on a reclining chair near him to relax in the cool night air. Not without lighting up another cigarette though.
'If there's one thing this species did that's good is discovering tobacco. Probably one of the only things in this world that I'll miss after I die. If I can die, that is.' He added as an afterthought. Resting his head back fully he closed his eyes and cleared his mind of those useless thoughts.
Behind him and still resting after a night of certain activities laid a woman. She appeared to be in her early twenties with beauty top models could only dream of. Right now she could be seen shuffling uncomfortably under the covers, blindly grabbing around the bed with her eyes shut almost like she was looking for something or rather, someone.
After five seconds of searching and not finding what she was looking for her eyes opened showing crimson red irises that were filled with annoyance. Sitting up and groaning due to the soreness in her body, she blinked to get rid of the bleariness in her eyes from waking up. She swirled her head, first left then right causing her silver locks to sway behind the motion until she stopped, spotting the man that should be lying next to her. The sight of him laying down outside instead of with her annoyed her something fierce but the thing that got to her the most was the cigarette he held lazily between two fingers.
'That ass knows how much I hate him smoking.'
She had been telling him that he needed to stop that bad habit of his or else his body would pay the price in the future but no matter how many times she did and how many packs she destroyed he would always be seen with a new one within less than a day or two.
Stretching her arms to the ceiling, the covers fell exposing her beautiful, pale round breasts to the cool air of the room. Her pink nubs hardened at the feeling as she got out of the bed and put on a robe to cover her modesty, its warmth comforting her cold limbs. Once finished she took a look at the digital clock on their dresser and mentally groaned at how early it was. She usually woke up around 5 or 6 am. Seeing that it was 1 in the morning and that she had to go back home before dawn anyway she decided to have a bit more fun before she had to go back to her annoying duties.
She peeked outside one more time before exiting the room and going to the kitchen to get something to drink. When she got what she wanted, which was a glass of water, she proceeded to walk back to the bedroom and then to the glass door that separated the balcony from the apartment's bedroom. Sliding it open quietly she carefully made her way towards the now sleeping young man and as she reached him, she made to take the cigarette hanging lazily in his hand but as if he could feel her presence next to him his eyes opened and locked with hers, freezing her in place.
