Two days I have layed in this bed. I was in Erebor. The Mountain was just as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside.

Balin and Bofur often kept me company, when Legolas and Tauriel weren't around.

Dori had come in three times a day to make sure I was healing fine. When I was alone at night the crushing memories of that day haunted me. I felt it all over again. I awoke at night and cried until I would finally drift off into a deep sleep only to wake up a few hours later with the same haunting dream.

Dain had come in once, we talked. He thanked me for the help that day, but I honestly didn't feel like I did anything special.

On the third day of me laying in bed, Balin, Bilbo, and Dain came into my room.

"There is someone here to see you." Balin said.

"Who?" I asked.

Before I was answered, Dwalin escorted a dwarf-women into my room.

She was beautiful. She had dark brown hair like Kili's and it was wavy just like Kili's and Fili's.

She wasn't smiling, her face was filled with sorrow. Her hair was long, almost reaching her waist. She wore a light blue dress and her eyes began to fill with tears as she looked at me.

She looked at the others in the room and nodded. They slowly walked out.

"So you are Amara, am I right?" She asked. Her voice was soft and kind, but she was struggling to keep in her tears.

"Yes." I whispered.

"You may or may not have heard of me, but I am Dis. Mother of Fili and Kili and the sister of Thorin Oakenshield." She announced.

I gasped.

"Kili told me about you." I said.

"Do you have it?" She asked.

"Have what?"

"The rune stone I gave him?" A few tears spilled over her eyes.

I nodded my head and pulled it out of the pocket of my dress.

"Do you want it back?" I asked her.

She shook her head.

"No, he gave it to you for a reason." She said with a small smile.

"So you know?" I asked.

"I do. I know all about it. He wrote me a letter that was never sent, but a few dwarves found it when they were looking in their room. They gave it to me." She said.

"I don't know what to say." I said.

"There is nothing you can say. There is nothing nobody can say, I have lost my brother and my sons to this horrible quest. There is nothing in the world that could ever replace them." She said, more tears fell from her eyes.

I started crying too.

"He was so nice to me. So gentle and kind. He wanted me to live here after the battle. He forgot who I was and where I came from. He was too young to go, as well as Fili." I said.

"They were both to young." Dis said and she stood up and wrapped her arms around me.

Her hug was comforting and warm. We both cried together for a few moments.

"They want to bury them tomorrow." Dis said after a few minutes.

"I dont think I'm ready to say goodbye." I whispered.

"We wont ever be ready." She said.

I nodded my head in agreement.

"I'm going to let you get your rest. Dwalin told me you have a beautiful voice. He said he caught you singing to Kili and so did Dori. Dain and I would like you to sing them one last lullaby if you could?" She asked.

"Of course." I said.

"Thank you, Amara." Dis said and walked out of my room.

I cried harder. I didn't want to say goodbye. Not yet. Not ever. This wasnt fair.

A few minutes later, Legolas came in.

"Amara?" He asked.

I couldnt look at him. I just cried.

"They want you to stay for the funeral tomorrow, dont they?" He asked.

I nodded.

"You dont have to if you dont want to." He said.

"No, I think I should. It will give me a chance to say a proper goodbye." I said.

He sighed.

"Or it could just break you more."

"You dont understand, if I dont say goodbye, if I miss this, I will regret it for the rest of my life." I said.

"Okay, okay. Stay. When its over, Tauriel and I will be waiting in Dale." He said.

"Thank you, Legolas." I whispered.

"You're welcome. Get some sleep." He said and kissed my head, before walking out of my room.
