I Pulled the Trigger

Today I pulled the trigger

And the bullet said to me,

"Why do you wish to die?

Is it something that you've seen?

Are you afraid to fail?

Or are you just depressed?

Whatever you might think,

I'm simply not impressed

Dying in such a heinous way

Is by no means honorary

What lies beyond the world of life

Is heartless and pretty scary

Rethink your decision to give it up

And listen to what I've said

This will not solve your problems

You're by no means better off dead"

I put the gun back in the drawer

And slowly walked away

Because I heard that saintly voice

I did not die today
