A small grey path of pebbles
That took you to and led you in
The bristling features of a sight
Like a prickling thorn throng gardenSharp points at every corner
Like tiny little needles
Poke and prod your fragile skin
Fingertips that touch left feebleCourtier bushels of bright red roses
And also shades of pink
From bold and brazen ruby
To a cherry tame and meekHyacinths and marigolds
Bring life into the chaffed nuance
And distant yet strong tempests
Growing lush flowers flauntMadness projecting through your body
Till the scarlet heaves and flows
Bide your time most modest mouse
Assent to this majestic rose
