ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ꜰɪꜰᴛᴇᴇɴ: ᴀɴᴅ ɪ ᴋɴᴏᴡ

Max stepped on the gas as I sat in the passenger seat, listening to the engine rev more and more down the small street. She'd certainly proved herself to be apart of the party, that was for sure.

"Nancy?" I heard a faint voice behind me but didn't look away from the map in my hands. Steve was awake. How good this was going to be...

"No don't touch it..." Dustin spoke to the boy who was completely battered. We'd got the best that we could from the medical cupboard: band aids.

"Stay on this road for half a mile." I say, looking over at Max from my map. "Then make a left on that little field or mountain that we see- Mount Sinai."

Max looked back at Steve when he asked a question. And that's when complete chaos let loose. Surprisingly...

"OH MY GOD." The boy quickly began to panic as Dustin tried to calm him down. Maps weren't my thing, and I was looking for any source around us to say where we were on this dark road.

"Just relax, she's driven before-"

"Yeah, in a parking lot!"

"That counts!"

"OH MY GOD."

Bickering and complete chaos went on in the backseats, but I kept my eyes ahead, you know- as Max decided to accelerate even more.

"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD." Steve's shouted probably would've included a much larger vocabulary if he wasn't just awake from a concussion. Shouting from the four boys at the back carried on and on before the both of us lost it.

"Do you want to or-" I didn't even finish the question before Max raised her voice again.

"EVERYBODY SHUT UP!" She told the car. "I'M TRYING TO FOCUS!" Then, it caught my eyes. Mount Sinai.

"LEFT." I shouted, not knowing what else to say.

"WHAT?!?" She asked me, causing me to shrug. The small turn coming up was going to cause a lot of braking...

"TURN LEFT." The tires screeched below us, causing screaming from all in the car as we just about made the turn. There was definitely a scream and yell from Lucas in the back, too.

"We're not going to survive." I heard Steve say quietly from the back. Confidence from that boy was really fuelling Max's driving, though.

We continued down the road before I told her to make a quick right, causing the car to run over a sign for the farm. I would apologise, but the world was at stake, so there was no time to go find the owner and give him five dollars.

As Steve's helpful yelling came from the back of the car, Max drove down the field before coming to a sudden stop just by the edge of the hole that Hop had dug up.

"HELLO?!" Steve yelled, again, as the car stopped.

"Whoa..." Dustin murmured.

"Incredible." Mike said, actually with a smile on his face. Odd. Look at him, actually being nice to Max.

"I told you." She said, staring directly ahead. "Zoomer." She undid the seatbelt by her side, unlocking the door and stepping out of her step-brother's car stolen car.

The group of us quickly got out, moving to the back of the car to gear up while Steve... while Steve struggled to even breathe and stand up straight. He groaned and leaned against the open car door while we walked towards the hole, one by one.
