NINE!

evies pov:
(reminder that thoughts are in bold!)

i woke up to yelling coming from downstairs. i turn my head to see if belly is next to me and she's not. i throw my hair up in a bun and quickly
go down the stairs to make sure everything's
okay.

as i walk down the stairs i see steven, conrad, jeremiah, and belly playing video games.

"jesus chris you guys scared the living hell out of me" i say

"what why?" belly asks looking away from the game

"PAY ATTENTION TO THE GAME BELLY" steven yells causing her to quickly turn back to the game

"that's why! you guys keep yelling and it gave me a heart attack"

"you look pretty alive to me" conrad chimes in

"shut up connie"

"come sit i can teach you how to play" jeremiah says patting the couch

i go sit next to him on the couch and belly is on the floor in front of us next to steven, who's also in the floor.

(a/n: if that doesn't make sense basically belly and steven are on the floor up against the couch and jere and evie are on the couch)

i watch as they all kill some of the zombies in the game.

"think you can take over while i go to the bathroom?" jere says handing me the controller and getting up

"you didn't even give me a choice!" i laugh

i attempt to figure out the controls while steven and conrad keep yelling at belly and i because we don't know what we're doing. once i finally get the hang of it, jere comes back and i hand him the controller.

i get a facetime call from kayla and answer it.

"i'm in the living room with everyone and your on speaker by the way" i say

"hi kayla" they all say causing her to laugh

"do you want me to go in another room?" i text her, just incase she didn't want everyone to hear if it was something important

she nods her head and i go upstairs.

"what's up? everything okay?" i ask

"so you know how my parents are getting a divorce? my dad is now resorting to alcohol and whenever he's drunk he becomes an asshole. i'm so stressed out right now and upset. you're like the only person who understands and can comfort me."

"kayla i'm so sorry oh my gosh, would you want to come up here for a few days to get your mind off it?"

"nah my parents wouldn't let me, especially with the divorce going on."

"what if i come back to town for like 3-ish days and you can spend the night at my house?"

"no way am i letting you leave cousins just for me, you were so looking forward to summer just for cousins"

"it's fine, 3 days is nothing kayla"

"are you sure? you really don't have to"

"i'm buying train tickets right now"

"you're not gonna ask your mom first?" she asks
