Amon

I get up to leave and get water from the kitchen. I'm thankful that I don't have things on the floor that could be in my way.

I get to the kitchen and get ready to grab a glass when I hear Kaneki's door open. "Amon?"
He asks and I turn around as he walks down the hall.

"Sorry, did I wake you?"

"No, I just wasn't expecting you to be up yet, much less moving anywhere out of your room on your own at this time." He says.

"Again this isn't the first time I'v had injuries like this." He nods and walks over to take the glass from me and fills it with water.

"Here, now let's get you to bed." He says but I just stay there.

"Do you mind if I ask you something Kaneki?"

"Not at all." He says and stares at me confused.

"Why exactly are you taking care of me? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the help but I don't understand why."

"If it means you don't die from work, then I'll keep doing it. There's more but you don't need to listen to my sob story." He says and I place my now empty glass in the sink.

I hug him and he hides his face in my chest as he hugs me. "You don't have to tell me, but I do care about your well-being."

We stay like that for a while before my back starts to hurt again. He seems to have noticed and pulls away.

"You should get back to bed." He says but I just walk over to the couch and sit there instead. He walks over and sits next to me.

"You don't have to stay up with me."

"And that stops me from doing so, how?" He says and I laugh a bit.

"Fair enough. But what do you plan on doing as I sit here the rest of the night?"

"Stay here until you decide that going to your room to sleep would be better." He says and yawns.

Kaneki

After us sitting here and just quietly talking for the last hour, I start to feel tired. Amon wraps an arm around me and pulls me close.

"What are you doing?"

"Keeping you from falling of the couch." He says and I lazily nod. I yawn again and rest my head on his shoulder.

"Get some sleep Kaneki." I hear Amon say before I close my eyes and let sleep over take me.

The next morning

I wake up to find myself curled up with Amon and try to move away, only to find his arms wrapped around me.

I manage to pull my arms away from him after moving them a bit to unlock them from their previous position.

Well now I don't want to get up. Damn him for this. I lay my head back down on his chest and sigh.

"You could have just left." Amon says and I jump a bit. "Calm down Kaneki." He says and I nod.

"I couldn't without waking you."

"Then you should have woken me." He says and sits up. His back pops and I see a bit of pain in his eyes but it quickly vanishes.

"I hate you sometimes."

"And the rest of the time?" He asks and I look away from him.

"Shut up." He smirks and I see his eyes land on something behind me. "What is it?"

"Akira. I recognize the sound of her car door shutting anywhere." He says and I look at him confused.

"I didn't hear anything though."

"Exactly. But the car that drove by a moment ago didn't dive away." He says and there comes a knock on the door.

"How the hell did you do that?"

"Part of the job. You pick up on it more the longer you work in my field of work." He says and Akira knocks again.

He stands up and pulls me with him. He lets go of me and I help him over to the door and he opens it.

"Amon, you're up. How do you feel?" She asks.

"I fell better. But someone won't let me go to work." He says and looks at me.

"You couldn't even walk to the door on your own. Your legs are jello at the moment and you still have a concussion. Work is not an option until you've gone back to the doctor and get the all clear."

"He's got a point." She says and I nod as he sighs.

"I hate both of you." He says and I flick him in the ear. "Ow, why the hell did you do that?" He asks and Akira laughs a bit.

"I can't hit you in the head so that was the next best thing. Plus you love us, not hate us. Get your facts straight."

"Shut up." He says and walks back to the couch and rubs his eyes.

"I'm going to head to work now. Hope you get back to work soon Amon." She says and leaves. I turn back to Amon and go back over to the couch and sit with him.

"You should get some more sleep."

"Fine. If Aaron calls or texts wake me up though. I want to talk with him." He says and I nod.

"I will if you sleep." He nods and we sit there for a bit before I feel a weight on my shoulder. I move him so that he's laying on the couch with his head resting on my lap. I sigh and look through my phone and end up just reading things online.

Three hours later

Amon

I wake up and find myself resting with my head on Kaneki's lap. Which is odd because I remember falling asleep while sitting next to him.

I sit up and see him sleeping. After stretching I stand up and pick him up and carry him to his room.

I hate, well no I didn't hate this. But I'm pissed with the fact that I'm starting to actually fall for Kaneki. Nothing against him at all, because he's fucking adorable.

Screw having a mid life crisis, I'm suffering from bi panic. T_T I'm screwed.
