Chapter 2.13

DANCE SEASON IS OVER Y'ALL IM HERE TO STAY

"Ladies and gentlemen, Ward Cameron, king of the kooks is going to jail!"

The boys were messing around inside while me, Sarah and Kie were sitting on the porch.

"Do you regret it?" Kie asked Sarah."

"No." She said quickly. "He deserves it, and I know that."

"He's your dad, I get it. I'm sure it sucks to be in the middle." I told her.

Sarah's phone started ringing, when she picked it up Topper's contact was on the screen.

"Sorry." She says.

"Yeah." Kie assured her.

"Hello?" Sarah asks.

She continues her phone call as the boys start cheering and laughing from inside.

We gathered in The Twinkie and started making our way over to Tannyhill.

"Shit." Kie says as cop cars started speeding over.

"Oh my God. Can you please hurry? I need to be there for Wheezie." Sarah rushes John B.

"You think I wanna miss this." He asks.

"Bitch." I mutter under my breath.

We pulled up to Sarah's house and climbed out of the van. We looked over the wall and tried to see what was going on.

"Holy shit." Sarah says.

"I can't see." JJ states stepping in front of me.

"Okay, well, now I can't see." I tell him.

"Get on my shoulders and tell us what you see." He tells me.

"What do you see?" Pope asks after I got up.

"I don't see shit, this tree is in the way." I tell them.

"Screw it. I'm going over." John B says jumping up and over the wall.

"Right behind you." JJ says.

"All right. Three, two, one, go." JJ said helping Kie up.

"Thank you." She tells him.

We were running over to where all the cops were talking to Ward when we ran into Wheezie and Rose.

"What's going on, why are the police here?" Wheezie asks.

"Wheeze. Wheezie." Sarah says running over to her.

"Sarah, what's going on? Why are the police here again?"

"Go inside. Don't come out." Sarah tells her.

We made it to the docks and we saw Ward talking to Shoupe.

"Dad!" Sarah yells.

We ran through a bunch of police officers who were standing on the dock.

"Hey. You gotta let us through." John B says.

"That's Sarah Cameron. Let her through!" Shoupe tells the other cops.

"What are you doing here, Sarah?" Ward asks.

"Dad! What are you doing?" Sarah asks him.

"Vic, you gotta get her out of here! She can't be here right now!" Ward says frantically.

"Just come on in, and you can talk to her!" Shoupe assured him.

"Sarah I'm so sorry, baby. I can't!"

"What are you doing? Dad, no, no, no!"

"Ward, this ain't gonna end the way you want it to!" Shoupe yells at him.

Police boats came and surrounded The Druthers.

"You don't need her sewing this."

Ward started climbing down the ladder and walk through a door.

"No, Dad, don't leave! Where are you going?" Sarah yelled.

"I love you!" Ward tells her.

"Hey! Damn it, Ward!" Shoupe yells at him.

"Dad! No!"

"Turn around and get back here!"

"Please don't leave!"

As all the boats cornered Ward the boat he was went up in flames and exploded.

"No. No." Sarah starts sobbing. "Dad! Dad!"

"Oh my god." I gasp putting my hand over my mouth.

Topper came running down the dock and came to hug Sarah. They fell to the ground as Sarah continued sobbing. I was in shock. And my heart broke for Sarah, she had just watched he father blow himself up. And even if he was a horrible person that was her dad.

We all gathered back at the dock at the Chateau.

"He deserved it right?" JJ asked.

"Are you kidding? Of course he deserved it." Kie told him.

"Never seen anyone blow themselves up like that." Pope states.

"Cross that one off the bucket list." JJ jokes.

"JJ, that's not funny." I tell him seriously. "A man died."

He looks down at the fishing rod in his hands "Yeah, that suck for Sarah."

Kie walked over to John B who was laying on the pogue.

"Are you okay?" She asks rubbing his back.

"It's not me I'm worried about." He tells her.
