The blood rushing down her arm made Brooklyn dizzier than the alien infection. Apparently, this infection was not going to be able to be drained. And this meant that Brooklyn needed a new plan, something better. And fast. Because she was going to run out of time pretty soon

Not only was the infection spreading to her neck, but she was also going on day two with no water and no food. Now, food was most certainly something she had been trained to live without. But water? Well, if the human body doesn't get water...it will die. And she didn't go through everything she has gone through just to die of dehydration

She needed to find water somewhere on this stupid planet. If this planet even had water. The only life she's encountered has been aliens and that dog...if it was even a dog and not an alien dog. And she's pretty sure that these aliens don't worry about dehydration

These thoughts were flooding through her mind quickly as she stumbled her way through the forest. The sun was beating down and sweat was pouring down her face and neck. Her jacket is tied around her waist and her shirt is tied around the wound in her arm, leaving her in a sports bra and leggings

Brooklyn stumbles to the ground and lands hard on the hot and sandy ground. She lifts her head and looks around the area. She was at the edge of the forest, the terrain changing abruptly from trees everywhere to a desert wasteland. Although, in Brooklyn's opinion, this whole planet was one big wasteland

But she didn't have too much time to think about that. Her brain was spinning and spinning and spinning. And she was burning up. Sweat drops onto the gravely ground under her face and she looks down. There was a small speck of blood from her cheek, most likely because she hit the dry, rocky ground so hard and cut it. Her chest was killing her, also probably from falling on the ground so hard. Her eyes droop heavily and she tries her best to keep them open. She needs to keep moving. She needs to keep going

But...but her head begins to lower towards the ground. Heaviness takes over her eyes and they begin to shut. Her elbows that were holding her up a little slack and she flattens against the ground completely

Maddie is crying in the kitchen where Jax is trying to feed her. "Come on, baby girl, you gotta eat something." Jax tells her desperately

Nate and Mick walk into the kitchen. "Still no luck?" Nate asks as Mick takes a seat at the table

"Nothing." Jax says, leaving the food on the tray in front of Maddie

"She's got an impressive set of lungs." Mick says from the side, taking a swig of his beer. "We heard her from across the ship."

"Are you serious?" Jax asks as Mick nods. Jax buries his head in his hands. "I don't know how else to help her." He whispers, his head buried

"Jax, you're doing your best." Nate says

"And she's still crying." Jax points out, looking at Nate. "She stopped when I got here but now...now she just wants her mom and...and I can't blame her because I want Brooke too." Jax picks up Maddie from her seat and holds her close to him. She settles down a little, sniffling

"Brooke's a fighter." Mick speaks up from the side. Jax and Nate both turn their attention to him as he takes another swig of beer. He puts his beer bottle down and looks at the two men across from him. "Our Brooke...she's a fighter." He repeats. "There's no way she wouldn't be working her ass off to get back to her family right now. We're coming up with some solutions and I have some ideas but...but what you can't do is shoulder this all by yourself." He says, looking Jax in the eye with tears of his own in his eyes. "We will see Brooke again. We will. And when we do...she's gonna want to know that her family was taken care of. I know you want to be right out in front of this but it's okay to let others take over. It's okay to lean on us."
