Backstory: Um, so, this is also kind of a secret so I'll just give a short little summary without spoiling the surprise. When he was about 7, Lynx got really sick. Everyone thought it was just some illness that would pass in a weeks time, but after a little less than a year of him being sick, they decided to take him to the capital city to a specialist. As it turned out, his "sickness" was actually his magic, which was fighting his body. Eventually Lynx managed to get the magic under control, and he was no longer incapacitated. But a turn of events happened when he was ten. His parents died (more info bout that in the story). He then ran away in despair and grief and has been living by himself since then. He's managed to stay off the radar pretty well so far- or, at least, he thought he was- until he got a letter that he was chosen for the competition.
