Divide and Conquer (Part 3)

Opening with Ruby's perspective.

Ruby and Penny were fighting on top of the hijacked Atlesian airship. Penny was constantly firing blasts of energy causing small amounts of damage to the ship's top while Ruby dodged the attacks as best she could with the help of her Petal Burst semblance and her weapon Crescent Rose. After having evaded some of Penny's attacks Ruby tried to reach out to Penny. 

Ruby: Penny! Stop! 

Penny shot again at Ruby who barely dodged in time with her Petal Burst semblance. Ruby then tried again.

Ruby: This isn't you!

Penny shot at Ruby again and Ruby managed to propel herself backward with Crescent Rose. Ruby tried yet again to reach out to Penny. 

Ruby: Penny, please! I know you're in there!

But it seemed like Ruby's words could not reach Penny. Penny's expression still would not change and her eyes remained red. Penny then made another shot against Ruby with all of her swords at once. Ruby was able to dodge out of the way again by propelling herself to the side with Crescent Rose but the explosion still knocked her away backing her to the edge of the ship. Ruby was afraid of falling but then she looked back at Penny who looked ready to shoot at her again. Ruby realized that she had a severe disadvantage from a distance so she propelled herself to the side with Crescent Rose again and began to use her Petal Burst semblance to dash behind Penny. Ruby then stopped and propelled herself to Penny with Cresent Rose slashed at Penny. Penny turned around to face Ruby in time and caught her attack with her swords. Ruby then tried once more to reach out to Penny.

Ruby: Penny! Please remember me! I'm your friend!

It seemed like Penny had come to her senses. The red glow in her eyes faded as she looked at Ruby worried. 

Penny: Ruby...

Ruby felt a sense of relief that she was able to reach penny despite the fact she was being controlled. However, Ruby's relief was short-lived as a griffon grimm attacked both of them from the edge of the ship. Both Penny and Ruby were knocked away from the edge with a heavy strike from the griffon's talons. Ruby stood up to face the griffon and charged up to it with her weapon Crescent Rose and with a few successful slashes Ruby managed to kill it. However, she looked around to see the hundreds more griffons surrounding the ship and the massive wyvern grimm as it circled Beacon Tower. Ruby then looked at Penny who looked like she was having a severe headache as her eyes were flashing between their normal green and red. Ruby walked up to Penny and began to help her get up. Ruby then saw a flash of light that seemed to come from behind her and heard a click. Ruby looked behind her to see that Neo who seemed dressed in an Atlas military uniform had taken a photo of her with her scroll. Neo's uniform then seemed to shatter like glass around Neo as she appeared back in her normal outfit.

Ruby: Wait a minute... If you're here... Roman Torchwitcks hijacked the ship!

Switching to Blake's perspective.

Blake stood outside the burning cafeteria staring at Adam having witnessed him killing an Atlas guard only moments ago. Afraid of Adam's cruelty, Blake staggered backward. Adam looked unimpressed despite wearing his mask.

Adam: If you're going to run away, "my love." You might as well do so already. You've already proven to all of us that you would rather run away than stand up for what you believe in. 

Blake gathered the courage to try and reach out to Adam the man she once saw as her role model. 

Blake: Adam! What are you doing!? This isn't right!

Adam stepped forward and pinned an injured human man beneath his right foot. The man began to beg to be let go.

Adam: Isn't it? They've caused us so much suffering. They've beaten us, exploited us, and MURDERED US!
