It has been an hour since you and Hiccup set up the dragon-proof chain and rocks it's tied to. Hiccup and Fishlegs came up with the idea that a combination of dragon fire would make the metal hot enough to break. You weren't confident in the concept, but it was still better than relying on changewing acid if it works.
"Now!"
At Hiccup's call, Toothless, Stormfly, Hookfang and Meatlug all fire at the middle of the chain, and as the smoke clears, you notice the chain doesn't look hot. Same as the other attempts.
"Anything?" Astrid asks as Hiccup and Fishlegs walk over to see.
Hiccup places a finger on it before sighing, "Nothing. It's not even hot."
"Huh. That combination of blast just isn't enough to melt the chain." Fishlegs remarks while they walk back to the safe zone.
"Um, hello, why are we not just using Changewing acid?" Snotlout asks dramatically, "We know that works. Duh!"
"Aw, Thanks for volunteering to milk a Changewing for us," Astrid replies with a malicious smile, painting her face. You hear Dracul chuckle under his breath from your left.
"Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. Funny, Astrid." Snotlout shoots back sarcastically; Hookfang lowers his head down to Snotlout and laughs, making Snotlout turn his glare from Astrid to him.
"It's not that funny, pal. Let's remember who fills your bowl." Snotlout remarks to the dragon yet it rewards him with Hookfang firing at his butt, "Hookfang!"
"Look, we're not always gonna have Changewing acid on hand, Snotlout. That's why we have to find the right combination of dragon fire to get through these chains." Hiccup explains for the second time in the hour.
"Hey, what if we have everyone fire at the chain together?" You suggest trying to bring the experiment back under control.
Hiccup hums in consideration from Toothless' side, "That could work."
"Okay, bud, here we go. One more time." Hiccup tells the dragon quietly before calling out to the dragons.
"Toothless, go." Toothless starts firing at the chain.
"Hookfang." The Monstrous Nightmare joins.
"Barf, Belch." You don't hear the Zippleback fire and look over to see the dragon sound asleep next to Snotlout.
"Hello?! Hi?!" Snotlout calls out to the dragon, who only move their heads away in response before going back to sleep.
"Are you gonna help or not?" Snotlout asks the four once you notice the twins relaxing against the tails.
"No, Snotlout, we're not," Tuffnut replies, "Because as usual, Hiccup and Fishlegs are overthinking everything."
"In delicate matters such as these, logic and reasoning can only take you so far." Ruffnut continues before Tuffnut takes over.
"You have to trust your instincts."
"Follow your gut."
"You have to have the right inspiration."
"In other words, you must have-" The twins then butt their heads together before saying in sync:
"Twintuition."
"Twintuition." Astrid repeats sceptically, "What are you talking about?"
"Ah-ha! We knew you were gonna say that. You know why?" Tuff asks before continuing, "Because of our-"
The" twins butt their heads together again, "Twintuition."
"Yes, it's the direct perception of truth, fact, and insight, completely independent of any reasoning process or logic that we could possibly come up with," Tuff explains while cracking his shoulders and crossing his eyes in the middle of it.
