The next day wasn't any different. But Sonic wanted to win Knuckles heart with a hard earned prepared meal. He taken culinary classes in secret. He wanted to do something nice for his team even though they didn't act like a team much. Though despite Sonic doin all the work he did try to be a good leader for his team. He sent invitations to his team not long after. He sat up the table and immediately started to cook dinner. He planned on making a casserole for the whole team. He bought all the ingredients needed. While making it he accidentally spilled the pepper in it. Hoping it will taste good it for the team he continued making the casserole. The blue hedgehog worked very hard on the dish while the sun set on the island. Once he was finished the team arrived. Amy, Sticks, Knuckles, and Tails. Sonic sighed and said, "Just in time team." Amy sighs and said as she sat down, "Sonic it's really nice of you to invite us for dinner and all but..." Knuckles said rudely, "Can't you take a hint? And also hurry up. Shadow and I are having a nice meal together." Tails shouted, "Knuckles!" Sonic sighed before he said, "Sit down if you please." The gang sat down slowly. The cobalt hedgehog had a little pride on his face as he placed the casserole on the table. Hoping it would be enough to show how great a team and friends are to him. Especially to Knuckles. But it was the opposite of what he thought. The casserole was little burnt but it didn't look good to their eyes. Sonic said as he sat down smiled a little, "Well eat up." Knuckles made a disgusts look on his face and said, "Bleh! No way I'm gonna eat that horrible glop that you made! You did so much worst than Tails and Sticks do." Sticks and Tails said simply in offense, "Hey!" Knuckles stood up and said angrily, "Thanks to you I'm late for dinner with Shadow. Thanks for wasting my time. I only came cause Amy reasoned with me to." Knuckles walked off without a word. Amy and Sticks stand up as Amy said politely just after looking at their communicators, "Sorry Sonic. It looks. 'Delicious' Sticks and I had to do a... aerobics class." Amy winks at Sticks. Both girls walked off. Sonic sighed sadly and muttered, "I understand and I forgive you." Though not all the team left. Tails 'his trustworthy sidekick, best friend, and little brother sat down. That's when his girlfriend Zoey entered and asked, "Am I late?" Tails shook his head. He turn to Sonic and said, "I Uhh hope you don't mind but. I invited Zoey." Sonic simply said sadly, "I don't mind buddy." Tails frowned sadly as he said, "Hey look Sonic, I know your upset and jealous about Knuckles dating Shadow instead of you. But I only wish people would show you appreciation like me and Zoey do." Tails has been on Sonics side since the day they became best friends. He was the only one that knew about Sonics crush on Knuckles. Just after Zoey took a seat and took a bit of the casserole on the plate, she hesitated before trying a bite of the casserole. Just after she did, her eyes lit up and said, "Not bad Sonic." After hearing what Zoey said, Tails took a bit of casserole on his plate and did the same thing as Zoey. Tails's eyes lid up and said, "A little heavy on the pepper but it's actually really good. You did a good job." Sonic replied sadly, "Thank you Tails. Zoey thank you too." Zoey and Tails replied, "Your welcome." Even though Zoey and Tails stayed and actually liked his cooking, it didn't make Sonic feel better. Tails smiled and said, "Don't worry Sonic. It will be okay. Right Zoey?" The female fox nodded with a smile. Tails looked at the casserole and asked, "Hey. Mind if I take the casserole and save it for later?" Sonic smiled a little and said as he pets Tails head, "I don't mind little bro. You can have it." Tails smiled and said, "Thanks." Just after the two foxes left, Sonic frowned and looked at the sky. Even though the two foxes appreciate him. It won't be enough to ease Sonics pain.
