-Y/N-

-- The Same Day, After the Date --

Steve and I decided to check the secret room we had found on the rooftop once more before he had to start his shift. We had let Robin and Dustin know by using the walkie-talkie system Dustin had set up between all of us.

Dustin would be here by bus any moment now and so would Robin. Just in time for us to tell them what we had noticed about the room.

So, I was waiting for Steve to finish changing in one of the mall's broom closets.

I went to go knock the door twice, as Steve had already been in there for far too long.

"Are you taking a shower in there or just changing your clothes?" I joked.

"I forgot something...." His voice came from inside.

"Is it the something important?" I asked.

The door suddenly opened and he walked out with a worried look on his face. He had on his Scoops Ahoy shirt with blue pants, even down to the sailor's hat.

"What did you forget?" I asked, noting that every piece of clothing was on him, down to the socks.

"My hair spray." He said sadly.

"I think your hair looks great, as usual." I consoled him.

"You're just saying that..." He muttered, reaching up to touch his hair.

"Besides the hat hides it." I added.

"I hate the hat. It blows my-"

"your best feature, I know." I finished his sentence. I walked forward and pulled his hand down from bothering his hair. "But your best feature, believe it or not, is not your hair." I said softly.

"Don't make this cheesy and say something like my heart or my smile." He rolled his eyes. I frowned.

"I wasn't going to say that." I shook my head. "I was gonna say.... your ass." I smiled dropping his hands and backing up.

"Y/N!?" He exclaimed in surprise. I laughed and buried my hands in my face, instantly cringing.

"I'm sorry that was such a bad joke." I hated myself for it. "Let's just go check out that room and go to Scoops Ahoy... please forget about everything I said in the past 30 seconds."

I started walking in the direction of the roof.

"Y/N, all I was gonna say is...." He walked in pace with me. "If what you said is true..." He said slowly, ".... then we both have the same best feature." He let out laughing.

I hit him on his arm playfully.

"Shut up." I giggled and that only made him laugh harder.

It was like this with Steve. None of us were funny or had any kind of comedic presence, but stupid shit like this would happen and we'd be rolling on the floor, dying of laughter.

I liked it though.

I liked how he made me laugh.

I liked how he made me feel.

I liked him.

"So," I paused, looking at Robin and Dustin. "There's a keycard that opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with this keycard also has a massive gun." I stated exactly what Steve and I had noticed this morning.
