Silas POV

I watch as my new family stiffens as soon as this big man enters the room. They all bow their heads saying something, a word, his name maybe? Do they know him? They must by the way they responded.

I look at the man trying to figure him out. Eventually his eyes land on me. He looks confused for a moment. He sniffs the air before nodding to himself.

"Jackson." The man says. I know that's my new dad cause mom told us. "And you Jay." I understand he is calling them but I don't want them to go!

"No Jay don't go with him!" I say then turn to my dad. "Dad stay!" I even used their language when talking to dad. I know they understood me. Dad turns to me.

"Lil eb hgirt cabk, Silas." He smiles down at me.

"We won't be long, buddy." Jay smiles patting my head before following the man out of the room.

Jay POV

"You adopted a human." Alpha Scott says to dad once we are in the hallway. "And you didn't tell me." He directs to both of us.

"I'm sorry, Alpha... we couldn't stand the thought of leaving the boy... by the moon I swear we knew he was meant to be our son. And little Lee wouldn't leave without him." Dad says.

"I'm not mad about it Jackson. I get that you fell for the kid. I'm upset you lied to me. You are my Gamma and my cousin. I hoped you'd trust me enough to let me know what you were doing." Alpha Scott says.

"Would you have approved?" Dad asks and he sighs.

"Honestly?... no. That boy is gonna break your heart, Jack... bring him home. Conrad can care for the boy far better than any doctor here. We'll get in touch with the heart specialist at children's in the morning but I can't have you all so far away from pack lands." Alpha Scott says.

"How do you know so much about him?" Dad asks.

"Jay." He says and I look to my dad.

"I'm guessing Luke told him... I needed someone to talk to and I called him." I confess. Luke is Alpha Scott's son and our future Alpha. He is also one of my best friends.

"I'll deal with the paperwork to get the boy transfered. Go get your family in order Jackson." Alpha Scott says and we head back to Silas's room.

As soon as we open the door all I can hear is screaming.

"Silas, buddy, what's wrong?" I ask the boy holding his arms.

"It hurts." He whines hugging me while glaring at the nurse that is standing in the corner of the room lookin shocked.

"I was just adjusting his IV medication. I told him that it would sting a bit when the medication went in but he still panicked and ended up ripping his IV out. When I tried to put a new one in he started screaming." The nurse tells me as the boy sobe into my chest. I pat his head a few times before pulling him away from me.

"She needs to put the IV back in so you can get your medicine." I tell Silas and he shakes his head.

"She hurts!" He argues pointing at the nurse.

"Don't touch him!" I hear Lee yell from at the nurse who just looks confused not understanding either child. Theo holds Lee and shushes her as I talk with Silas.

"I know it hurts but I need you to be brave for me. I know it's no fun but you need the medication... here wait a sec." I say then turn to Paul. "I need your help to calm him."

"But he doesn't understand me. How can I help?" Paul asks.

"Just you being you will help to calm him... trust me brother. You're better at this than me."

Paul nods and comes over to us. He gently lifts Silas and sits on the bed before putting the small boy in his lap careful of the wires still connected to him.

Silas looks confused but slowly relaxes as Paul runs his fingers through the little guy's hair and shushes him humming some soft melody.

I reach for Silas's hand and he looks at me wide eyed.

"We got you pup. It's gonna be okay. Trust me alright?" He nods before burying his face in his big brother's arm. "Be quick." I tell the nurse who comes over and puts a new IV into Silas's little vein and pits a bandaid over the hole where the old one was.

"All done." She says after giving Silas his medication. She gives us all a smile before leaving.

"You did great, little brother." I tell Silas who finally looks up from Paul's arm.

"She's gone?" He asks and I nod. Silas let's out a deep breath and smiles before snuggling into Paul's chest. "I like this." He says. "Never had this before."

"That's Paul." I tell him. "He's the best hugger in the family. If you ever need someone to cuddle he's just a big Teddy bear."

Silas laughs at that looking up at our brother.

"Hi Si." Paul smiles down at the boy.

"Paul." Silas says causing Paul to smile even wider. "Hugs" he adds and Paul wraps him in another tight hug.

"I don't know what you told him but thank you Jay." Paul says refusing to let Silas go but the little boy doesn't seem to mind.

I swear that boy was touch deprived. I'd be willing to bet the only one to ever touch him in an affectionate way has been Lee. That will definitely change as long as he is in this family.

I look over to the door when I hear it open. Alpha Scott steps in and turns to dad.

"We can take him back to the pack tomorrow." He says and dad nods.

"Bub!" Lee yells finally getting out of Theo's hold and onto the bed. "You okay now?" She asks obviously scared for her brother.

"I'm good now LeeLee." He smiles brightening the entire room before he yawns.

"Come on Paul. Get up so the boy can sleep." Dad says and Paul looks down at Silas before leaning the bed back and getting the boy comfortable on his chest.

"I'm good here." He answers as Lee crawls up the bed joining the cuddle party.

The smile on Paul's face was blinding as he finally holds both pups in his arms.
